Is it a scare tactic since it's actually happened? You don't have to worry about that scenario if Health care is considered a right and not a privilage. I seriously believe that we have a human obligation in this country that people have access to medical care. Sorry I can't be the hard core social Darwinist some of you are.

Even if I had to pay $200 a month for this insurance I would. If it meant I had to cut things out of my life to afford health insurance I would. With this said, even if I could not afford health insurance I would never expect someone else to pay for me, NEVER. Everyone can say we pay for the uninsured when they go to the hospital. Well so be it but I am not paying for 32 million people.

After all of the debate on this law, (I won't call it a bill any longer since it has passed) how can people still not know what is in it? Please show me where the law mandates that you have a certain test. Please show me where it mandates anyone to have a mammogram. What the law does do is mandate that insurance plans PAY for certain tests. Every time another false charge is made about what the bill does or does not do I feel better about it. If false charges and indistinct platitudes (socialism, stealing, death of freedom)are the best anyone can do, it must be pretty good.

What precentage of the population do you thing honestly can't afford health insurance? You can get a family plan through Humana for less then $200 per month. I've heard about enough of the crap about there not being affordable plans out there.

We may end up with a single payer system some day, but it won't be under this bill. Some future congress may end up deciding to pass single payer (I don't think so, but who knows) but there is NO provision within this law for single payer.

On this law the Obama administration did what it said it would do, except that the law is much more moderate than what he said during the campaign. Many people want single payer and have said so, but it is not in the law just passed. I repeat. every time someone makes up something about this law that just isn't there, it leads me to the conclusion that they can't do any better in finding fault.

But I think you may be right, From what I heard of the debate, many of the people speaking against the bill had NO clue what was in it. They just heard Glenn Beck say it was a government takeover, baby killing bill, and that was good enough for them.

I found it amusing that Obama would refer to "his bill" and what was in "his bill" when he didn't have any bill. There was the Senate bill and the House Bill and they said different things. You never knew to which bill he was refering particularly when he would tout certain features that could only be found in the Senate bill and then turn around and tout other features that could only be found in the House bill. It's little wonder why some people would be confused.
