Dave Faust from the 9th region?????? Really? I think Faust is a fine coach but this one has me scratching my head.

Like Mustang said in an earlier post-so many awards and the wealth gets spread around. One award had David Henley at Holmes and Alan Mullins sharing the Division One coach of the year award in Northern Kentucky, while Coach Russell at Newport won Division 2, and Coach Dilts of Dayton was co-Coach of division 3 in Northern Kentucky with Coach Shumate of Beechwood.

Almost everyone can say they were coach of the year.:lol:

McCreary did what was expected in the regular season. Boyle County exceeded expectations. Coach Adams should have won.

They didn't beat Male, Seneca, Corbin, etc. McCreary went from 12th Favorite, to a top 15 team in the state.

 

The thing is, Robert Jones has won this award three straight years. And the team has nothing but a couple of district titles to show for it.

I hear you and I am not saying he isn't deserving. What I am saying is that the job that Steve Adams did at Boyle County should have been commended by more than the Advocate Messenger. Boyle went from a bottom 5 team in the 12th region to top 5 team in the 12th region in less than a year. In all of the preseason 12th region polls no one had us higher than 12th place. Instead Boyle ended up finishing 19-9 overall and as one of the top 5 teams in the 12th region. No one expected that whatsoever. While McCreary had a great season especially bringing the 12th region some statewide respect, they finished the regular season as the top team in the region record wise, and like I said, that was expected. The quick turnaround at Boyle County wasn't expected and for that I believe Steve Adams deserved the award.
