March 17, 201016 yr Anyone else think shows like this influence others little girls to get pregnant? If so, that's just bad parenting IMO.
March 17, 201016 yr Yeah, not a good showing for Notre Dame. Heard the higher ups took a lot of flack over allowing MTV to come into the school. Oh well, what people won't do for some money! Story I heard was that NDA didn't know what the show was about when MTV came to them. After they found out (and the bishop found out) they told them to leave.

Surely NDA had to sign some kind of release. No way they didnt know it was MTV. My understanding was that it was presented to them that they wanted to show adoption as an option to an unwanted pregnancy and NDA wanted to support that.

Notre Dame knew what was going on. My daughter text me at lunch with pictures of them taping at lunch. What did the officials think it was, a documentary on "what's for lunch"? Please! I for one think it was a bad idea for the Sisters to allow them to come in. They had a choice and they made the wrong decision. IMO. And they wouldn't have looked bad by saying "no". Hmmmm, there's a thought. NO!!!!!

March 18, 201016 yr BTW you have heard haven't you, that for the first time in the long, long history of NDA (100 + years) there will not be a Sister of NDA as the Principal of NDA but a lay person. Do I think that Bishop Foys had anything to do with it? :idunno: But I wouldn't bet against it! I had always heard that NDA is not part of the Diocese so the Bishop wouldn't have any influence over the school's hiring decisions.

March 25, 201016 yr I just watched the show which I saved on my dvr. For the life of me, I can't imagine why anyone would allow a video crew in their lives at such a difficult time. However, it did show how painful teen pregnancy and the decision to adopt can be. I dont think it showed the school in a bad light. I liked the stand her parents took. Overall, it was a better show than I thought it would be. As usual, I think our uptight, out of touch Bishop overreacted.
