March 14, 201016 yr Funny how when Liggins refused to go into the game last year, people were telling him to hit the road. A kid gets into it with the coach on the bench and gets sent to the locker room and its no big deal. I guess all is well when you are winning.....
March 14, 201016 yr The replay, to me, clearly shows that Goins forearmed Cousins at least belt high, not in the groin.....talking about the incident near midcourt.
March 14, 201016 yr It's still a cheap shot when fighting through the screen and the tech was a good call.

Not only that, but Cousins had been BLASTED on here by a few of the same people in this post for being "immature and a thug" and they are taking up for Orton on this one. I guess reputation counts for something. Wow.
March 14, 201016 yr I thought what Orten did was out of character. But the same was said about Liggins. I thought it was interesting that Orten went back into the game in the first half and Liggins played the next game after refusing to go in.
March 14, 201016 yr Is everyone missing the point; if Coach Cal told him to go to the locker room and cool off , what was he suppose to do ? Ignore the order from Coach and set on the bench or follow orders and leave the bench . Orton was just doing what he was told and now its a big deal . I still think Orton is a class act and will be a great player .Yes I like Cousins meanness and toughness and actually glad to see some come from Orton ,also . Time to toughen up and not be timid .

Refusing to go into a game to play and back talking your coach are two very different things. Gillispie had no idea how to discipline in either situation. Cal does.

A kid gets into it with the coach on the bench and gets sent to the locker room and its no big deal. I guess all is well when you are winning..... Lets see.... Liggins REFUSED to do what the coach said, and Orton DID what the coach said. Regardless of what led up to those situations, they're completely different. Do you just comb through every thread to try to find a way to take cheap shots at UK fans?
March 14, 201016 yr Do you always get so defensive when someone dares to make a point that doesnt shed UK in a favorable light? It's a legitimate question that several UK fans I watched the game with asked. Getting into it with the coach to the point he's sent off the bench is the issue. Not Orten actually leaving the bench. To me, they were both handled in somewhat the same manner because they both weren't sanctioned. Yet, people on here were telling Liggins to hit the road because of it.
March 14, 201016 yr I don't see these as the same at all, Scribe. A guy quits on his team and refuses to play, and another guy getting sent to the locker room to cool his temper... I just don't see it.

March 14, 201016 yr If Dan Orton did not come back to the bench, would we be having this discussion? You brought it up, so you tell us.
March 14, 201016 yr If Dan Orton did not come back to the bench, would we be having this discussion? But he did come back to the Bench after he cooled off , just as he was told .:ohbrother:
