If it is true that they woke him up and pulled him out of bed, I can totally see where he would be a little freaked out. You get woken up in the middle of the night (from a dead sleep perhaps), you're probably going to freak out no matter who is waking you up. It happens sometimes I would imagine.

 

I wake up from a dead sleep all the time. I rarely get up pushing people when it happens. Actually, I never do.

And you are giving the police the benefit of the doubt as well. I for one have seen many times in a college situation how policeman act and how they treat these kids and its not always with decency, respect, or common sense.. Bad part is regardless of what happens this kids is probably going to be charged and have a blemish on his record for life.

There have been absolutely no allegations of any wrong doing on the side of the police, as far as I know. Why shouldn't I give them the benefit of the doubt?

 

I for one have seen many times in a college situation where people talk about, and treat the police very disrespectfully. It makes me sick that people in this country feel like they can talk so badly about people that are out there risking their lives each and every day for the citizens of this country.

 

If something comes out later, or already has that I don't know about, regarding the police in this situation doing something wrong, I'll change my tune. I don't see that happening.

Good thing that the majority of our Presidents of the USA haven't felt the same as you. Also probably a good think that the majority of CEOs of Fortune 500 companies haven't felt the same as you either lol.

 

Well seeing as how the economy is going to pot and our last two Presidents have been two of the more unpopular ones, sounds like they spent a little too much time at the frat house and not enough in school.

... and Senators, and Governors, and congressmen ... actually, this might not have been the best way to illustrate your point, MJ, considering these are the folks responsible for dysfunctional Washington, a sagging economy and the good-ol boy system in general.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but you sadly mistaken if this is your true opinion of fraternities and sororities. It was the best thing I ever did and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It has paid great dividends in so many different ways that I don't have time to explain right now. It is so unbelievably much more than paying for parties and/or friends.

No matter what your opinion is, there is no need to insult just because it is not for you... Saying just because you are greek you are "too scared or don't know how to be independent" is uncalled for. Sterotyping a group of people, no matter what, is bad.

Where those people going to separate themselves from alcohol if they weren't in a fraternity? Those same people would have an alcohol problem if they were SAE's or Future Farmers of America. The organization didn't force them to drink.

As a matter of fact, we had madatory seminars discussing the negative effects of drinking, drinking and driving and underage drinking. One person showed up drunk for an alcohol seminar and he was suspended for an entire semester.

 

As an adult, I was given the choice to drink or not to drink and I did what I wanted to do. It had nothing to do with the fraternity.
