Final

Wow.. close one.

Ballard will face Manual who prevailed over Moore in the first game.

Eastern had a great team too. What a tough region! They would have been the best team in atleast 10 of the other regions in the state!! If they can replace Thomas at the point they are going to be really good next year. I look for them to be a top 5 team in the state in 2010-11 season.

Good win for Ballard! You win the toughest district in the state and then have to face Eastern...wow.

Scoring by quarters:

Ballard: 17-19-11-17--64

Eastern: 15-11-20-16- 62

From Jason Frakes' blog:

* Ballard 64, Eastern 62, final: Lyonell Gaines' tip-in with 4 seconds left pulled the Eagles within two, but they had no timeouts remaining to stop the clock. No. 1 Ballard (27-4) advances to face Manual in Friday's 7 p.m. semifinal. Ian Chiles had 23 points to lead the Bruins. Remy Abell and Gaines both scored 14 points to lead No. 3 Eastern (21-9).

I agree. I could see this game going either way.

What a shame someone had to lose in this one. I would love to see both those teams in Rupp.

The 7th region is tough. However, I think this was a very underachieving and disappointing Eastern team this year. After watching them play this summer, I didnt think anyone could beat them. Never looked like they were on the same page.

Eastern always seemed to be one small notch below Ballard all year.

Sounds like a good one though tonight. Eastern will be in the top 2-3 preseason next year with A LOT of talent back.

Eastern played very hard tonite as a team...Just got beat

Eastern came out soft, just as they were in last year's state tournament. They never led the whole game. If Ballard hits free throws, they win by 10.
