:idunno:Simon had the lead at the half, 18-17. Holmes started the 3rd playing defense on all 84 feet of the court and with in a matter of minutes the game was over. The trio of RJ, JJ and Pittman combined for 14 in the first half, and 28 in the 2nd half. Chambers for SK took a charge and had to leave the game, hopefully he can recover for the districts.

Did SK stall the ball because it is hard to believe that Holmes only scored 17 in a half against this SK team?

It wasn't a stall. They were deliberate in their offense. The ran a lot of open post with cutters. Holmes got up 8 0 to start the game but SK stayed in their offense and eventually took the lead.

The first 3 minutes of the 3rd qtr ended the game for SK. They really struggled just to get the ball past halfcourt.

They were patient with the ball but neither team really shot well in the first half. Once Holmes pressure SK in the third, SK had trouble getting the ball past half court. Holmes forced several turnovers, scoring 23 in the 3rd.

How does Sorrell only score 2 points? That's very uncharacteristic.

He's struggled the past few games, only totaling nine in the past two games. He's not been hitting from deep, and he's missed a few shots on the drive. He has to get his game back on track soon.

What was the nature of Chambers' injury?

I think SK needs to give Doss more minutes. Even if he doesn't get the ball inside, he draws way more attention. Glad to see the 6 points.

Holmes started pressing and went on a 16-0 run to start the 3rd quarter and went from being down 1 to up 15 at 33-18..

Sk traded baskets with Holmes the next two possessions, but with the score 37-22, Holmes put another 10-0 run on the Neers that made the score 47-22 after Herndon hit two free throws.

With score 47-24, Dogs cleared the bench with over 3 mins left and let the reserves close the game out.

Anyone know why Rice didn't dress OR play in this one?

I think he was a little dazed from hitting the court with his head. Doss scored his six when the game was well out of hand against their reserves but he did have the only slam of the game. He's promising but is still very raw but he's a very good shot blocker, he had three or four.

Doss is the transfer from Boone, right?

I believe Ricardo also had a dunk off a JJ steal early in the 3rd when Holmes started pressing?

He had a dunk in the 3rd but it was off of a baseline move if I remember correctly.

Yes, Doss is the tranfer from Boone. He has only been playing organized basketball since 8th grade, so he is still very raw. Great kid though and loves the game.

3-pointers: S 4 (Chambers 3, Mullen 1); H 2 (Pittman, R. Johnson 1).

If the Holmes team that played the 3rd quarter plays shows up from now on, and I hope they do, no one will be able to keep up with them. I loved that Henley started out the 3rd with a full court press, creating turnover after turnover. This is the team everyone wanted to see all year.

I asked earlier in the thread but didn't get an answer...Does anyone know why Rice didn't play or dress last night?
