New Franklin County Head Coach

Featured Replies

It's official, Chris Tracy will be the new Head Coach at Franklin Co.

Like I said before, I could see this causing a domino affect in this region with coaches.

Is this really that good of a hire?

Absolutely. :thumb:

Chris is a former Assistant at FCHS. He has done a good job at Woodford as a Head Coach. They ran the "System" there and that is something a lot of the kids, parents, boosters like. He is a great defensive coach. Still lives in the area. Good hire and good luck to Coach Tracy.

I know that there are other factors involved when taking a job, but just looking at it from a football perspective, is Franklin County a better football job than Woodford?

This is a great hire for Franklin County. He did a great job at building Woodford football and his team's were fun too watch.

He won 1 playoff game in 7 yrs at Woodford. It may be fun to watch but that is not very impressive. I hope he can get it done.

Exactly. I don't know Chris Tracy. I hope he goes to Franklin and wins a state championship, because they are definately not short on athletes. Never have been, and never will be.

Like you, though, I can't stand the whole "well, the parents and boosters like it". What people should like is WINNING, and not necessarily winning, but winning come November. If you can efficiently run the ball out of the "System", run that offense, if not, then enjoy getting patted on the back for A) throwing up huge offensive/passing numbers and B) Not being able to stop a sole on defense and C) going 4-7, 5-6 at best. When the heck those two things ever got termed "Exciting", I have no idea? :idunno:

Ok. I'm off my soapbox and back to the topic. Congratulations to Chris Tracy and best of luck to the entire Franklin County football program. They definately need some stability and success. It's too good of a place not to have both. :thumb:

Franklin Co. has stopped a lot soles on Defense. For 6 straight years FC had a better record than your 4-7,5-6 comment. I agree they need stability but they had no idea Coach Walker would be leaving as soon as he did. Coach Tracy is a Defensive minded coach and a good disciplinarian. He is big on fundamentals. FCHS made a bad hire last year and now it is time to move on. Everybody of course wants to win, but 1st you have to have a buy in and have hard work. :thumb:

Great hire for Franklin County. Tracy knows what Franklin County football means and I hope he can turn it all around as he has experienced, hard-working, talented kids coming back.

I wasnt making reference to anybody. Walker, Tracy, none of them. Merely going along with what another poster said, in which I have the same opinions about. Nothing more, nothing less.

Good luck to coach Tracy, I hope he gets treated better than the last coaches to pass through the Franklin County doors. Who will be on his staff? Will you see a reassembly of Ledford's staff?

Coach Sheridan actually played for Chris Tracy when Tracy was an asst. at FC so I am pretty sure Sheridan will stay on the staff.
