Maybe the other high schools should start a tradition also and not offer a locker room when Highlands shows up at their home court. (Give em a port a potty). I have always seen both teams on the court during introductions and it should be no different under a new coach. The AD needs to step in and make an adjustment. Have the coach on the floor to shake the opposing player's hands when they are introduced. Then have your players shake the other team's coach's hand when they are introduced. Let the kids have some fun.

It's no different than a coach calling his players to huddle up after them being introduced and talking to them while the home team is being introduced and having an assistant stand at midcourt to shake hands with the opposing players. I find that more disrespectful than what's going on here.

I think some of you folks are way too sensitive. Why does every team have to conform to what other teams are doing. I don't need to see an opposing coach stand their waiting for my son to run over and shake his hand.

 

Back to the game, how did the Beechwood freahman handle the Birds defensive pressure?

Looks to me like something the kids enjoy. I am sure there is no disrespect intended. No one liked it 20 years age when the Michigan kids started wearing the long baggy shorts. Who is to say which way is right or wrong. Let the kids have some fun.

I've talked to a few of the players and they kinda think the "curtain" thing is a little corny. I also thought it was the first time I saw it.

I guess it depends on how you as an individual look at it. Highlands keep doing what you do, that's what makes you; you.

Nussbaum at PG handled it well, as did Maus in the post. Maus was working hard on defense in the post but I think Highlands experience and athleticism got the best of him. Nussbaum was getting to the rim and middle of the floor with ease but just couldn't get his shots to fall. Rebounds seemed to be the difference here, seemed like Highlands got every single board.

Where is this not showing class? Please explain. While I think the intro's are rather corny myself, that is what the coach chooses to do. And since when is it mandatory that the coach be on the floor to shake the hands of the opposing players before the start of the game? I also did not realize that there was a rule regarding having to give the referee's the fist before the game either. Better things to argue about than this petty thing and yes Highlands keep doing what you are doing if that is what your coach wants.

I guess when the score is 70-46 all that is left is to talk about how Highlands introduces it's players?

Maybe it's just to be a little different;

Maybe it is Coach Flynn starting tradition;

Maybe it's HHS' arrogance and disrespect;

Maybe it's to create a little excitment & let the kids have a little fun;

Maybe..........it really isn't that important.:idunno:

This is common for people to go on stupid tangents about things that don't even apply to the game.

 

Please posters.....stick to the game and not worry about all the other little stuff that people want to make a big deal about nothing!
