I haven't seen a Kobe supporter say anything about Kobe being better than LBJ this year. I think all of that has died down so put that argument to rest. Anyone watching the NBA right now knows who is the best player in the NBA. LBJ. :isurrender::notworthy:

Last I looked it was January 24th and it's too early to predict who will win the title, even though I think the Lakers will repeat. Lots of things can happen between then and now. I seem to recall the Cavs having the best record in the NBA last year, but didn't make it to the Finals. Regular season is almost meaningless, IMO. There's no point getting riled up or arguing about anything not related to the NBA playoffs right now, IMO.

Is anyone going to question the supporting casts now? No way does Cleveland beat the Spurs and snap a huge winning streak in Utah w/o LBJ. The title still goes through LA and probably will for a while b/c they have better talent and Kobe seems to be a better finisher.

1-6 I agree the Lakers are better. 1 - the rest of the roster, I like the Cavs. After the top 6 players, the Lakers bench has been horrendous this season. It is all about complimenting your Superstar. Each "cast" has adequate supporting pieces. Kobe and LeBron are not the same player and play different positions.

So you think the Cavs are a lot better 7-10 than the Lakers? I'm not sure I'm buying that. Is Gibson really that much better than Farmar? Is Jamario Moon that much better than Brown? First of all role players usually are big in the playoffs but not nearly as big as 1-6 right? After Kobe the Lakers next 4 players are far better than anyone on the Cavs. Far might not even describe it. Their 5th best player would be heads and shoulders the 2nd best player on Cleveland. I would consider it to be Odom. He comes off the bench and Artest or Ariza from last year could be argued are 5th, and they're way better than Mo Williams especially when it comes to the playoffs. What they bring in a playoff series is far superior to what Williams gives you. The Lakers are built for the playoffs.

For an entire season I'd take Williams over Fisher. For a 7 game series when it counts it isn't even close IMO. I'd take Fisher's expeirence and huge shot making ability in a heart beat.

 

Also w/ your argument you're giving the Lakers 2-4 in an absolute landslide right? I'd still take that as support if I were Kobe....Kobe is the 2nd best player in the league and he has 3 All Star caliber guys 6'10" or taller. He also has a wing defender who makes it so he can rest on defense more than LBJ. He has guys who aren't afraid to take or make huge shots in the playoffs and a coach that could outcoach Cleveland's while he's sleeping.

Pau Gasol, Odom, Artest and Bynum could possibly get a 4 or 5 seed in the West. I watch the Lakers all the time. I know it's only one game, but they just destroyed the Jazz, the 2nd hottest team in the league over the last few weeks. Kobe makes them a title contender, but the Lakers would still be in the thick of the playoff race without him. Heck, they have the best record in the West, and the Mamba hasn't been healthy enough to be himself for much of the season.

To be fair, since adding Gasol, Bynum has improved greatly, and they've also added Artest.

I realize the team is better, but Artest for Ariza is at best a wash. Also, guys like Fisher have lost a step. At best I think you could argue that they would be in the six to eight range if they lost Kobe.
