January 11, 201016 yr I am just bored and figured I'd get a thread started about where everyone on the board goes to shoot. Feel free to explain the place(s) as far as whether they are strictly an indoor range, they offer skeet or archery shooting etc. etc. I personally frequent Shooter's in Independence, KY. Nothing too special it is just close and convienient to get to from Ludlow, KY.
January 11, 201016 yr Skeet - Lloyd's in Crittendon. Pistol/Shotgun - Indian Hill PD, which only allows law enforcement to use their range.
January 11, 201016 yr Author Skeet - Lloyd's in Crittendon. Pistol/Shotgun - Indian Hill PD, which only allows law enforcement to use their range. Interesting. I have been thinking about getting into some skeet shooting. What are the prices like out there?
January 11, 201016 yr I find the guys at Mark's Guns in Florence tend to talk down to everybody, so that being said, I think Shooter's is the place to go for handguns (although I'm not a handgun person). Skeet is frustrating, but fun to do on occasion, so I go down to Lloyd's for that, but pretty much all the rest of the time I shoot at my family's place in Owen County.
January 11, 201016 yr Interesting. I have been thinking about getting into some skeet shooting. What are the prices like out there? $4 a round (25 birds) for non-members; $3 for members. Membership fees are $35 a year (I think - I am not a member). I shoot there a couple times a year. Went a bit more this year because my son and daughter started getting into it. Pretty embarrassing when my 16 year old daughter legitimately beat me one round (we both sucked - I just sucked worse).

For high powered rifles we have a range on a friends farm out to 325yds.
January 11, 201016 yr Interesting. I have been thinking about getting into some skeet shooting. What are the prices like out there? I honestly haven't been down there for over a year now, but I want to say it was 5 bucks or so for a round of skeet last time I was down there. They also have a couple of trap courses in case you're interested.

I had the same problem recently. I have no doubt they know more about guns than I, but they are always around them and should. However, there is no need to talk to me like an idiot.

They don't have a range, but if you really want a helpful and accommodating staff (at least around NKY), go to RLC Shooting Supplies on Turfway Rd. in Florence. They may not have a huge inventory, but they are nice as could be, their prices are more than reasonable, they can get ahold of ANYTHING for you, and they almost always have somebody either working or standing around shooting the breeze who can answer you any question you may have on any gun. ...and if they don't have an answer, the can surely make up an answer that sounds good

January 12, 201016 yr I use to go to The Sportsman's Club in Frankfort (outdoors). Now I just go to friends farm close to the Franklin Co./Scott Co. line.
January 12, 201016 yr Clear Creek range. It's a forest service day use area, $5.00 a day. Nice range near Cave Run Lake. 200 yards with covered shooting benches. Bring you own target stands.
