January 13, 201016 yr I generally shoot at clays...and this is a great thrower if you're shooting at your own place.
January 13, 201016 yr Clark State Forest in Henryville, IN. The range there is open to the public at no charge. About the same distance as Knob Creek and worlds less expensive.

January 15, 201016 yr I shoot at the Wyoming Antelope Club in Pinellas Park, Fla. Outdoors, it has a good target range and several excellent competition areas. They hold the state defensive shooting competition final here almost every year. The Pinellas Sheriff's department and several city police departments us it for qualification and training. Been a member there for several years. In fact I'm going out there tomorrow night. Have to site in a new 22 I'm giving my nephew to learn on.
January 15, 201016 yr How much does it cost to shoot at Knob Creek? $9 or $10 I think. It is a great place really. It is huge and has a gun shop right on site. You can even rent guns to try out as long as you pay for the ammo. The thing is though when you can go for $0 it is hard to pass up.
January 15, 201016 yr Author I took my girlfriend to Shooters today... turns out she's better with the .22 than me.

January 15, 201016 yr LINK She put the center out of the target with the thing too! Nice! How does your 22A stack up to the Walther P22? I've been kind of looking into a P22, but I've heard good things about both and I like the idea of an American made gun. I think cost-wise, they're within about 30 or 40 bucks of each other.

I love it. I do have to admit I shoot a lot of reloads which I guess are "dirtier" than other ammo and I do have to clean the gun every 2-3 times to the range or it starts to jam up on me. Then again that'll happen with any gun if you shoot dirty rounds. Those rounds are 15 bucks for 550 rounds for a reason. Only gun I've ever had that has never ever jammed on me is my 12 ga. Remington 870. I'm on my 12th year shooting that gun and have had it in river mud, the sand from the winter pool lakes, and marsh wet lands and it has never once failed me. That gun is my baby!:thumb:

I'm personally pretty religious about cleaning my guns each time I shoot them (most of my shooting buddies try to tell me I've got OCD), so the jamming thing shouldn't be an issue for all intents in purposes. I think maybe I'll start looking a little harder at the 22A. :thumb:

January 19, 201016 yr Author Man I am nuts about keeping mine clean by comparison. Of course the Nagant shoots corrosive ammo. That makes a bit of a difference. I always say I'm going to keep up on cleaning it better, but I usually run home put it away and get busy with something else in life. Thus not cleaning my gun.
January 19, 201016 yr Man I am nuts about keeping mine clean by comparison. Of course the Nagant shoots corrosive ammo. That makes a bit of a difference. Yeah, I've got an Enfield, a Swedish Mauser and a German Mauser that I try to buy surplus ammo for. You can usually see the corrosive build-up pretty clearly by the time you've shot 5 or 6 rounds through them. I generally wish mine were clean by the time I'm half way back to my house. I guess you could say I'm a little :jump: about cleaning too.
