An 83 QB rating doesn't reflect on how many times he's throwing. It reflects how inaccurate he is. Maybe some of it is due to dropped passes and receivers not getting open enough, but I don't buy all of it has to do with that. These guys are in the NFL for a reason. Who does Garrard throw to? Who does Campbell throw to? Look who Flacco is throwing to. All have better ratings than Palmer.

Wow. The indians have revolted here on the reservation. You win the division, get to the playoffs for once, and now you are ready to castrate the starting QB. I once again refer to GT's "Cincinnati sports mentality" theory. More and more fodder to reaffirm that it's true.

He stopped stepping into his throws and they were all floating high on him. I wonder if the knee injury is still in the back of his mind or if the thumb prevented him from stepping forward thinking that he could injure it worse if hit.

Post 24....You all keep arguing with me, and acting like I am so wrong in what I am saying. However all I have said, is that it would just be dumb to get rid of him when even with not much talent we made the playoffs. We seriously have to be one of the only city's who wants to get rid of a QB after making the playoffs, I mean wow.

 

Some of you all really have forgetten what a bad QB looks like, and got spoiled from the 2005 season. Palmer is not a bad QB. Is he going to be as good as we as Manning, Brady, etc. like we thought he might be no he is not going to be. Is he a guy they can win with definitely! There is no reason to get rid of him. Then if you get some more talent around him on offense, then you also would see better numbers. Just look at how much better he and the offense was just by having one more talented player in Henry, and how bad he and the offense was when they lost Henry. Give him talent and he will have better numbers. Its just dumb to even suggest getting a new QB, or making him a backup like some people have suggested.

I didn't think you would have much back to say, since I have actually stuff to back up my argument. Unlike the argument you tried to use about the Packers defense being tore up by everyone, even though they were number 2 in the NFL. :sssh::thumb: Like it or not my argument about if there is more talent, that his numbers would be better have been backed up. So the argument about there not being that much talent for why he has struggled is very true. Yes he needs to do better, but he is far from the problem like you try to make it seem. There are other problems which are bigger problems, and easier to fill than finding a new QB, and one that you can still win with.

There are simply those of us that feel that Palmer is no longer the best choice to take us there. The bottom line is that he'll be here next year and hopefully with some better surrounding talent, but he was a big part of the offensive problems this year and if he can't get himself right in 2010 then the Bengals need to move on.

Do you think drafting a guy, would end up being better than Palmer? How was the recent history of the Bengals again when it came to drafting QB's before Palmer? Shoot how is the Bengals history when it comes to free agent QB's? All of the above equal no so good. Yet you think that someone else might be a better choice?

 

Quarterback is the hardest position to find someone that can do well, and you can win with. The Bengals have someone who they know they can win with. There is no arguing that, because they have made the playoffs under him, and just did make the playoffs again with him. Yes we all want someone who is as great as Peyton Manning, Brady, etc. and yes we all thought Palmer might have been that. People need to let that thought go, if you all do. Then you can see we still have a good QB. Yeah he misses some throws, but he also does things to help us win games, and does really well when it matters most for us. I ask you to state who the Bengals could get that would be better off for the team than Palmer, and you resort to this? You must know that there isn't anyone. So I'm glad to see then that we are in agreement then, that the Bengals wouldn't be better off without him. That there are bigger problems for the Bengals than QB spot, and fixing those other spots would be a lot easier than finding a new QB. I'm glad you finally agree, thanks! :thumb::walk:

I am glad that his thumb will be fixed now. Less chance of a fumble on a hand off, and well should make the playaction work better.

Because it just makes to much sense. Their offensive coordinator is not the brightest one in the NFL when it comes to calling plays. He is also just very predictable, but yet of coarse the Bengals are going to keep him. You would think they would be ready for a change, the man has been calling the offense since Dick Lebeau was head coach. Its time to get someone new in here.
