Just got in from the game. GRC did not play well, but still pulled out the win. Tomlinson was on fire, very nice shooter. Donovan Johnson was held to 6 points. Glad to see Eric Standafer play well, his grandparents are our neighbor.

Cory was a beast tonight, he held GRC in the game. Vinny had a off night, but came up big to hit the wining shot. He also hit the wining shot that beat them last year.

 

I knew this would be a barn burner and it was. Shelby Co has a very good team. Hicks is the real deal. Look forward to watching him the next 3 years.

Not me, knew it would be a barn burner, and tried to tell you so in the prediction thread.

 

GRC tied the game up with about 1 minute and 38 seconds to go. Shelby Co held the ball for a last second shot. With about 4 seconds they tried to get the ball down low and it went out of bounds. With 1.8 seconds Travis inbounded the ball to Vinny past mid court...nothing but net.

Great win for the Cards. Now Lexington Christian tomorrow night. Brutal schedule the Cards have this year.

I'll give you the bank put I didn't see the push or the prayer! Vinny can shoot the three when open so no prayer needed. As far as the fouls it was 6 to 1 in favor of Shelby in the second half so the whistle only worked on one end of the floor. GRC let a 5 point lead go when they got in a hurry and made some bad passes for a few trips down the floor, without those mistakes they win pretty easy by 5 or more.

I wish coach would let Robbie Stenzil do more one on one with the ball and slash to the basket stuff. It seems like Robbie is holding back on the offense end of the floor. He has definitely stepped up his defense this year.

Last-second shot gives Cards win

For the Rockets, it was another disappointing loss to Clark. A year ago, Zollo connected on a bucket underneath the basket on an out-of-bounds play as time expired in a 61-59 win over Shelby County in Shelbyville.

Although Zollo provided the last-second heroics, Corey Rogers carried the Cards for most of the contest. The junior forward finished with a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds. Rogers scored 11 points in the first half and tallied seven of his team’s first 14 points. “Corey played a phenomenal game,” Zollo said.

Nice win for the Cards. Zollo seems to have Shelby's number when it comes to last second shots. Refs seemed very reluctant to blow the whistle throughout the game. Hicks is a very good player for Shelby and it will fun to see where he takes his game in the next 3 and half years.

Didn't think either team played very well. Rogers for Clark played well and that was about it. Hicks played well at times and Tomlinson shot well from outside and that was about it for Shelby Co. Clark seemed confused on offense all night.
