Big win for the Lady Royals.

Shake up in the 10th with Mason County win over George Rogers Clark. This one went down to the wire with GRC making 2 late 3 pointers and Keller Menke making 9 out of 12 foul shots in the 4th quarter. GRC started game up 9-2 but Mason closed the gap and traded leads. GRC leading by 1 at half time. Mason was up by as many as 10 in the 4th quarter. GRC tied it with 2:15 minutes to go. Mason took the lead with next possession and kept it for the remainder of the game.

Rule 13

Interesting game with lots of momentum shifts. Clark County got out to an 11-4 lead, Mason County climbed back to within one at half, 22-23. Clark County came out flat in the third quarter; shot 1-for the quarter and Mason County went up by 8. The fourth quarter saw Mason County score all of their 13 points at the stripe, going 13-16.

 

Great win for the Lady Royals; yet another game that would in all likelihood have gone the other way last season.

PS - #4 for Clark County can shoot!

Looks like Mason may have established itself as the #2 team in the region, having beaten Scott (who beat Clark), and then with this win.

 

What's happened to GRC? A lot of pre-season hype circulated about their ability to dethrone Montgomery.

Congratulations to Coach Butcher and the Lady Royals. He has done a great job with the program from the beginning. It is great to see the wins, and the big wins, becoming a reality and a result of their hard work. Their effort makes them a fun team to watch.

Awful early to be making any predictions on who is #1 or #2 or even #3 in this region, especially with the injury of player on Montgomery. I see this as wide open as its ever been in a while throwing Montgomery,St pat, Mason, Scott in the mix of potential region semifinalists at this point with Clark co still having a chance!

Menke missed several games with an ankle, 8th grader Mackenzie Butler is having ACL surgery today and Mason played last night without senior starter Beth Queen (who was out with an injury but will start back practicing this week). This team will only get better. Fun to watch.

I ponder to think if people will call this a home court advantage for St. Pat also..The girls don't play at the Fieldhouse anymore than any other 10th region team..
