January 1, 201016 yr Just saw this add on here, anybody have any info. Jesus wasn't really here or something like that. How do these adds come up anyway?
January 1, 201016 yr Author Ok, I clicked on it and did some reading, I'd like to see it but will not pay a dime to do so. I also would like to research the folks behind this and ask some questions. Jesus life is well told thru the Bible of course, but there are several more authors that wrote about his life and his ministry. How can they discount these folks? Have some questions, but I'll wait.

They discount it because they believe in nothing. He who believes in nothing will believe anything.

Did it discount that Jesus existed or just that he was the son of God?
January 3, 201016 yr Author Great point, also they will recieve "Nothing". They will not get a penny from me, but I'd still like tio find it.

January 4, 201016 yr Isn't it historically inaccurate to say Jesus never existed? To make such an assertion flies in the face of the historical record. You can say or believe what you want about the person of Jesus Christ, but to deny that he ever existed is as absurd as denying the existence of Aristotle, Plato, Julius Caesar, Galileo, Isaac Newton or George Washington.
January 4, 201016 yr Author Don't know why I doubled posted? Never was born on the Jesus aspect, and I mentioned how other writers beside Biblical ones have written about Jesus, so they already begin in error. No one else saw it on here yesterday?
January 4, 201016 yr Here's what the link says (I added the numbers)... In this critically acclaimed film, you will discover: 1. The early founders of Christianity seem wholly unaware of the idea of a human Jesus 2. The Jesus of the Gospels bears a striking resemblance to other ancient heroes and the figureheads of pagan savior cults 3. Contemporary Christians are largely ignorant of the origins of their religion 4. Fundamentalism is as strong today as it ever has been, with an alarming 44% of Americans believing that Jesus will return to earth in their lifetimes I must say, I'd be quite curious to see this. I'd love to see their arguments for items 1 and 3. Without excluding, drastically re-interpreting, or descrediting the Bible, I don't see how #1 could possibly be argued successfully. Number three I'd just be interested to see what they say. I've already heard or read a bit of #2 at various times. Number 4 isn't that surprising...I wouldn't have been surprised with a higher percentage to be honest. I have to admit, I'm fascinated by the claim that it "irreverently lays out the case that Jesus Christ never existed." I certainly understand that many people dispute the claims of Christ, but to dispute that he existed? That should be an interesting argument.

If they aren't presenitng the idea that Jesus wasn't the son of God and that he actually never existed it should be very interesting. I for one will check it out.
January 5, 201016 yr What 5Wide said. I wonder if you can rent this? I'd bet most video stores wouldn't carry it for fear of being boycotted by Christian groups. You definitely won't find it in any small towns.
January 5, 201016 yr Author JIM, not sure about the boycott, maybe back in the 50s/60s but seems to me a loy of Christian groups just don't pay any mind anymore. I have protested/boycotted/written letters/called folks/called the Baptist Church in Kansas, and fellow Christians ignore me.
