Haven't seen Mason but I stilll believe GRC will represent the 10th at Rupp!

 

Whether they can beat the 7th region winner at Rupp--that's almost three months away so I would wait until we see who makes it out.

 

That being said- NOBODY will want to play Eastern, Ballard, or Trinity in the state!

I think Ballard is the best in the state. What a tough region. Eastern and Trinity are both very good. All of Clarks losses has been to Louisville teams while Clark has beaten Male and Seneca. So they have already played 5 Louisville schools playing Male twice.

Now imagine if GRC was actually in the 7th. The 7th is like this every year.

Playing 16th region teams is a little different than playing the Louisville teams. You ought to try one ,once in a while.:ylsuper:

Lofton and company played and won these games during their title runs and the same goes for the Darius Miller led Royals. The years when Mason was a serious title contender, they were winning the Holiday tournaments, not getting beat in the consolation brackets. If GRC considers themselves true State title material, then they must start winning some of these games. Yes it is only December, but that excuse is about to come to an end. Clark is still the favorite to win the 10th region but Mason is starting to slowly close that gap.

I thought GRC played much better in the King Of the Bluegrass than they did in this past tournament. Althought they lost 2 games in Louisville they played much better and did much better against the pressure defense .

 

 

I agree, Memphis Central has had the best guards we have faced all year.

 

We get a pretty good team Saturday night...Our schedule is no slouch either and you know that!!!

Mason has played very tough schedules in the past, why such a weaker schedule this year? Remember when Mason was picked to make a run at the title in 2007, but didn't make it out of the region. Winning holiday tourney's is great, but post season is the one that matters.

 

Secena is a contender for the 7th. As passtheball stated, the 7th region is brutal. Don't know if any other team in the state could fair any better with them in the schedule GRC has played...if so , lets hear it.

 

Again congrats to Seneca, will be interesting who comes out of the 7th.

In 2007 Clark County ran into a tough Ballard team in the second round of the Sweet Sixteen. I think from that point on Coach Humphrey realized to compete at the top level you must play the top level teams. This has been his method of scheduling since that time. The teams that beat Clark County thus far are top tier in the state. The lesson to take from these defeats is that Clark County can compete at this level, all of these games were close. No one said GRC was the greatest team ever to lace up sneakers, Gold Sunrise even warned everyone we would take some lumps along the way. I guarantee Coach will work out the problems that were exposed during these games and GRC will be ready to play come late February and March. He is a great Coach and he has a very talented team!

All that is in the past, it doesn't look good for this years squad for the fans to be living in the past. Mason is playing really well right now so brag about this years team not what happened years ago, that is old news.

Not bragging, it is an analogy that sums up where GRC stands in the race for a state championship. The contending teams win these games, regardless of whether or not it is December or February. By the way, what school to you support anyway?

My comments were about this years Mason team. They are playing real well and that has nothing to do with what Mason did when CL was there several years ago. Clarks team this year has nothing to do with teams past. It's all what they do this year that counts.:thumb:
