I think Cooper has a good chance to make it to the playoffs this year!

It is a tough district. To qualify for the playoffs, they will have to work their tails off and earn it more than many teams in other districts.

It will come down to one of three teams, Boone, CC, and Cooper for the final spot.

I'm not sure about this upcoming year, but the freshman team that just played last season has an excellent future.

Boone can win if they play to the players talent and not the coaches philosophy. But we all know that won't happen. They could have 3 D1 type receivers and still decide to run run run. Time for a change at BC.

Cooper should challenge and possibly beat Boone and CC this year. If I'm not mistaking Boone couldn't even bring down a tackling dummy this past season!

Cooper is still two years away IMO. Their games will be closer but when they do get better, it will seem like it's been overnight. In the 2010 season, i dont think they are quite ready to make a playoff run or even collect a district victory.

I'm not going to guarantee any wins but as long as Bradley stays healthy, they will be "in" most games on their schedule. They will have their best QB yet, although he will be young, in Morris. He can throw acurately and very elusive runner as well. Cooper will have nearly all their starters back and a lot of athletes that are sophomores but know how to play and expect to win which is sometimes hard to teach. If nothing else, it will be exciting to see how it all plays out. :thumb:

Yes they had talent on the offensive side of the ball. If you think that defense was talented, I can only laugh. A majority of the year Boone kept Fookes, Oppenheimer, Quainoo, and Brown strictly on offense. That alone is four talented football players that can make a difference on your defense, and don't give me that story of "they had to stay fresh for offense". if your QB can go both ways, you can at least use these guys occasionally on defense. I did not bad mouth the offensive players, but maybe the offensive coordinator or head coach. The players can only do what they are put into position to do. Combine Coopers next years Senior class with the upcoming JV and sophs and IMO they will surprise some teams and possibly win more than the naysayers think.

Cooper will have the ability to play in about every game of their tough district schedule next season. As of right now, you have to say that Ryle is more talented than the other teams in the district but Cooper brings back almost all of their starters, and a ton of experience. With some of the other teams losing a lot of talent, it will not suprise me at all if Cooper makes the playoffs next year!

After reading this thread, what comes to my mind is until Cooper plays the season schedule that the established 6A teams in the distict play yesr in and year out, commiting to Cooper being in the playoffs is hopeful but may be tough this next few years. The competition level playing 6A level teams through the whole season, be it in NKY or in having to travel to other areas of the state, prepares a team for the road to the playofs, even if it causes your team to lose some games preparing the team for NKY district competion. I am definitly not an expert on this subject, and do I hope the best for Cooper next year You can not depend on other teams losing talent, to equal things out, to be he best, you have to play the best, and in time, Cooper will get to that needed schedule I'm sure. The entire quote. You say they need to change their offensive philosophy despite have 3 D1 type receivers. That is a slam against their offense. But maybe i misread. Anyway, when has Boone had 3 Division 1 skilled players, ever...D1 is rarely achievable by NKY kids at the very least, with the exception of Highlands of course.
