I'm in the same boat. I found a local place in Cincinnati that fixes them for around 50 dollars but I just haven't had time to bring it out.

I'm calling them. Going to argue with them to see if I can get them to fix it for free.

Have you tried taking out the HD and starting it up? I've heard that can sometimes fix the problem.

Haven't tried that. But I tried putting it on a diff. TV and that didn't work.

I've had mine 2 years and never gotten the red rings of death thankfully, it will probably happen tomorrow though now that I've mentioned it.

That is just a temporary fix and sometimes only last 20 minutes.
