Sounds like Scott was doing well for itself. After close games with Lexington Catholic and Mason county as well as a win over Male, does Scott (2-2) deserve to be in the top 25 in the polls?

They are doing very well. They will be a tuff out come post season. Looking forward to playing them Feb. 13th.

Scott does not deserve to be in the top 25 at this point. After watching them play against Mason they seem to be a little soft on both the offensive and defensive boards they get pushed around alot inside. They better start utilizing their bench more or the starters will be worn out half way through the year.

 

Keylo Jones as of right now is Scott's best all around player. I think a couple other players read to many articles in the paper and have not performed to their potential after 4 games. It is early and Scott has time to turn it around but all the starters need to be performing and if that happens Scott will go far.

It sounds like expectations may be higher. It is hard to take comfort in losses, but Mason and Lex Cath are top notch programs. Scott has done well with both of them. I see this being a solid year for the Eagles.

Can't say much about Male or Lexington Catholic because I was not at them games but Mason is not the Mason of the past years. I am not saying they wont get there because the Scott game was only their 2nd game but speed wise and interior play just didn't seem like it has been in the past years.

21 point loss to Mason at home last year is a bit misleading. It was a close contest throughout the game (never exceeding a 5-point lead) until about 4 minutes to go in the 4th quarter where it was a 5-point lead then for Mason.

Keylo might well be the Eagles' best all-around player, but I hope you took note of the fact that when Kellen Smith was not in the game (did not start), the Eagles struggled, and fell behind 11-0 or 11-2.

 

Enter Smith to take over the point guard duties and the Eagles rallied to take the lead. Keylo might be best "all-around", but imo Smith is MVP.

Mason is still a very good basketball team and has some very good players on their squad. Scott went into Mason and last friday and played them very well for it being away game (and the sheer atmosphere of the Fieldhouse is enough to give a few more points to the home team) so it was a good sign for the Eagles. They will be just fine this year...
