December 11, 200916 yr I think that at his next press conference Coach Tomlin should indicate that since this season is a wash, the Steelers are going to intentionally tank the remaining games in order to get the best draft position possible. In order to ensure they lose the remaining games, Tomlin ought to only send out 10 guys on any given play. It would be interesting to see how the commissioner would handle this. If the Steelers are smart they will tank the rest of the season and get a good draft position. Also, the Steelers don't seem to have their typical intensity this year. This can easily be rectified by signing some dirty, antisocial players and letting them run amok on the field against opponents. That will bring back the intensity. Just remember boys and girls, it's not criminal behavior if it occurs on the field of play, before the whistle blow. Just kidding, by the way!!! Edited December 11, 200916 yr by jbwill2
December 11, 200916 yr I'm really tired of hearing about Pitt's defense. What is really shocking to me is that they could not score more than 6 points on CLEVELAND. When last years #1 defense doesn't protect five 4th quarter leads, then they should be talked about, but I will say last nights offense was horrible...
December 11, 200916 yr One thing that seemed different about last nights game was the fact that Big Ben didn't make many plays scrambling. He did a couple of times but that is how the Steelers have made hay in the past. Clevelands defense was there and they made the sack most times and didn't let him get away.

December 11, 200916 yr How bout a big night for the kid from Fairview, It was great to see a kid from eastern Ky making an impact running the ball in the NFL, I really think he might be the starter next season. How did he do ? What were his stats ?

I think if they continue not to block anyone on offense or wrap anyone up on defense, 11 will get the job done just as well. :idunno:

December 11, 200916 yr What has happened to the Steelers? A few observations.. 1. Their not physical on either side of the ball. 2. Poor tackling 3. Poor blocking 4. Numbers 2 and 3 are a result of number 1. 5. If you factor in missed FG's, return yards and TD's against us this very well may be one of the most horrendous Special Teams units in the history of the League. 6. Cornerbacks have 0 INT's. 7. Every pass play does not have to be a deep drop and a 40 yard strike. 8. Refusal to grind out the running game (Mendenhall can play!) 9. Selfishness 10. Mental mistakes in the 4th quarter. I have more but I have to go get the kids from school. Bankshot
December 11, 200916 yr Does anyone else blame Bruce Arians on these defeats? I just think we don't have an identity on offense I'm just not sure what we're going to get game in and game out these days. There is no excuses though we have to beat the Raiders and Browns that's the bottom line, our talent alone should do that. It just shows you can't just show up in the NFL and expect to win. It is 3rd down and one, and BA goes to a 5 wide set... :puke: He is one of the most hated men on the Steelers web site.
December 11, 200916 yr Check out this trend. 2001 and 2, winning records, AFCC champions. 2003, losing season 2004-5, Winning records AFCN Champions/SB champions (not AFCN second year). 2006, losing season 2007-8, winning records, AFCN champions/SB champions. 2009 . . . losing
December 11, 200916 yr That game last night reminded me a little of the Browns/Giants game from last year. For one game in each of the last two years the Browns have looked like a juggernaut on their home field against the defending Super Bowl Champions. For all you gamblers and prognosticators out there, remember that next year.
December 11, 200916 yr Bruce Arians has been terrible for a couple of years. Because of the Super Bowl people forget that the offense under acheived last year for most of the season and the defense saved them a number of times. Then Ben gets hot the defense does their thing and next thing you know their the Super Bowl Champions. I remember telling a buddy of mine that Super Bowl is going to get us stuck with Arians and he said maybe someone else will think hes good and steal him from us. I think Arians and anyone who had anything to do with Special Teams should be the first ones evaluated in the off season.

Well I hope the Bengals can do the same thing as the Steelers last year, and win the Super Bowl even though they have a terrible offensive coordinator. Then hopefully he leaves, so we aren't stuck with him anymore after this year.
