December 8, 200916 yr Lets look at the players teams playing in their biggest game of the year. You forgot Mardy...
December 8, 200916 yr I think college football wanted to put McCoy's or Tebow's smiling face next to it. But Ingram has flashier and will take the trophy from them.
December 8, 200916 yr I'd go Suh or Gerhart. Gerhart led the nation in rushing and td's and led his team to its first bowl game in nearly a decade. Suh is the real deal. Colt threw too many picks, Ingram is great but his whole team is great and a lot of backs could put up similar numbers in that system with those players. Tebow is the least deserving on the list, but he's Tebow. You got to invite him. He's the cool kid... Suh is a beast. As a Bengal fan, I'm hoping Clevland wins a couple more games so that he's not in the AFC North.
December 8, 200916 yr Good point. 2442 total yards and 15 TDs including time and time again willing his team to a 12-0 season just doesn't stack up... I'm guessing return yardage is included in that?
December 8, 200916 yr Author Mark had a bad game due to an injury, so all the other guys played really well all twelve games. Not trying to be funny just don't follow the other guys so much. Lets look at the players teams playing in their biggest game of the year. Colt won even though he made a mistake at the end that almost cost them big time Stanford kid played against ND and won. Loved to seen Mark against ND. Clemson player lost his game. Cornhusker, lost and if he uses his head and lets Colt go they win...see Colt. Gator, Tim didn't play well. Folks, also Mark shares time with a kid who might win it himself someday, and Mark doesn't mind sharing time with Trent and Roy Upchurch who comes in a lot on 3rd downs. I haven't seen this part mentioned by anyone here or on TV. I have no problem with it, but Gerhart has been tough all year, Suh was outstanding in the Big 12 Title game and all season (he nearly won the Big 12 by himself), and Spiller did everything but win the game. They're all deserving. McCoy and Tebow.....not so much IMO. I'd rather see Tate, Gilyard, Keenum, or a few others take it home in front of the two QBs. They are on the list by name alone IMO.

I think Colt deserves to be in the Top 5... Tebow not so much. I'd put Spiller in over him probably.

Look for them to take the worst possible prospect.

December 8, 200916 yr Author I think Colt deserves to be in the Top 5... Tebow not so much. I'd put Spiller in over him probably. You're probably right. I was just a little disappointed in him this season. I was a big fan of his last year, but he just didn't get any better IMO. But, it is unfair to compare a player from year to year, as the Heisman is only based on this season. I don't think he should win, but I guess I'm okay with him being there.:thumb:
December 8, 200916 yr I'm guessing return yardage is included in that? He made those returns, right???
December 8, 200916 yr He made those returns, right??? Yes. One of the reasons Gilyard wasn't invited is because Pike was the guy hyped early on. Mardy is the best player on that team and could make a case for the Top 5. Had Pike not been hurt, I guess he could have too.
December 8, 200916 yr I find it hard to believe that Kellen Moore isn't at least in the discussion for the Top 5. 39 TD's and 3 INT's on an undefeated team.

I fully understand why Mardy wasn't really in the picture, but I'm still going to have a little fun hyping what he did both overall, and down the stretch to sometimes put the team on his back and will them to victory. The numbers are pretty absurd when you see them on paper...
