December 6, 200916 yr I just looked again, and the final score still says UC won against a top 15 team on the road to close the season... Doesn't excuse the fact that nothing they did yesterday warrants jumping anyone, no matter how bad you want it to. Well we might as well eliminate Texas from the BCS Championship then. They gave up 39 to the Aggies, and surely 1 point doesn't make that big of a difference. I don't think Texas should be there either. TCU has been better than both IMO this season. But in the end if you win by one or by hundred it is still a win! Fla could have played better but they didn't! Texas should have played better but they didn't either and they won at home no less against a team that was ranked 20th. At least UC played a game in weather that was just horrible for their style of offense and on the road to boot against the number 16th team in the nation and they won! I think it say's a lot about them! So we should reward them them because they run the spread and had to play a regular season conference game? Bit of a stretch IMO.
December 7, 200916 yr I agree with those that said UC will end up #3 and TCU will go to 4th. UC has had better computer rankings, and it's been said they will take over #3 if they win on the road at Pitt Vs a ranked team, while TCU was idle. Also, I thought I read in the paper this morning that the #2 SEC was tied to the Sugar? And that the Sugar also had the last at large pick?
December 7, 200916 yr If you don't look at how the game was played, then yes. UC was lucky to have a shot to win that game IMO. If a team gives up 40 some points they don't deserve to jump anyone in the BCS. 40 points is bad, awful defense. UC is a good team, but if they wanted to move up they should have taken care of business all game long IMO. I never understood this argument. If someone wins just like 13 to 10, you never hear people say well they didn't deserve to win because their offense was just plain awful. I mean just 13 points in a game is pretty awful to, yet no one says that. I mean it honestly should work both ways. At the end of the day they won on the road against a top 15 team in conditions that favored the home team. So how that should not count as a good impressive win is beyond me.

I mean just 13 points in a game is pretty awful to, yet no one says that. I mean it honestly should work both ways. Both teams have about the same resumes, and UC beating a ranked team to end their season, does give them a reason to be rewarded for it. You also act like that Pitt would have won the game if they didn't miss up that snap. Well Pitt still wouldn't have won because of that, it would have went to overtime. Which UC still very well could have won it. Pitt also had the opportunity to not allows UC to go down the field and get that touchdown but they did. Pitt also had the opportunity to not even allow UC to get back in the game after they were up 31 to 10 and yet they did. I mean obviously Pitt's defense then was just bad to, so I guess you can't say they deserved to win then either right? UC deserved to win that game. I mean you seem to be an SEC fan, and we see low scores all the time in the SEC. So I guess should we say that the SEC team that wins that SEC game didn't deserve to win that game, because their offense was awful? Yeah that would be a pretty silly thing to say wouldn't it? Just like what you are saying is.
December 7, 200916 yr Wouldn't #3 play #4? How does it work? Something like: Take out the teams that are locked it to certain bowls, such as the Big-10 winner to the Rose Bowl, Unless the team is playing for the national title. Then the BCS bowls rotate on selecting a remaining team. I think.
