The longer football season is the better in my opinion, basketball season is too long from my perspective. It goes from what, November to February? Football goes 3 months and 1 week into a 4th.

Eliminate the first two rounds of the playoffs!

 

Great idea! Only let the top two teams in the districts in the playoffs. It used to be that way until somebody decided it "wasn't fair"

Yes, those people are off work to visit family...I feel certain it would kill attendance for those not playing in the finals. Many might choose not to show up due to THANKSGIVING at Grandma's house! Leave it the way it is

Yes, because YOUR team is playing. If YOUR team is not playing you will be less apt to pass up poor ole' grandma to go watch a game you have no stake in.

In reality, the ones attending the championship games are the fans of the teams still in the games. I do not think there will be very many outside fans attending the games in Bowling Green this weekend. Attendance will be down this year.

Nope. I can't support a system with fewer football games. Let the kids play.

Many good points on here. Dont' shorten the regular season 10 games fly by way to quickly.

I am sort of torn on the playoffs as far as everyone playing. Round one could be easily eliminated as many games are blowouts anyway. However as far as football being too short of a season I dont buy that for a second.

Its basically year round, Spring Practice, June(whatever thats called which includes the 7 on 7) and then the real practice starts in the middle of baseball season. Ya I know same for basketball and the pull from AAU and taking up the month of June as well.

I would venture to say TV ratings, college ootball, and the NFL would all beg to differ.

 

December B-ball is awful normally with a smattering of games being played during the Christmas break before crowds of 50-75 people (mostly mom's and dad's).

Basketball season lasts 13 weeks, the regular season anyway.

School also used to start after Labor day so the kids could work on the farms.

Basketball has been cut short by a week. They did that last year. Non-football schools before 2002 could play before Thanksgiving.

They can't do that anymore.
