Has anyone heard anything about the parking "issue" at WKU for Friday's games? With classes ongoing at WKU, will parking in the garages nearest the stadium be closed off to students and only open to those attending (a) game(s)?

The major thing to know is that the parking structure that is adjacent to L.T. Smith Stadium will be exclusively for paying customers for the games. The structure that is adjacent to only Diddle (aka the old structure) will be for paying customers beginning with the 3 PM game. Egypt (or Creason) lot, which is the largest parking lot other than a structure near the stadium (across from the baseball field and near the railroad tracks) will also be for paying customers beginning with the 3 PM game. There are also additional parking areas that are free, and parking areas that are free in addition to a ride being provided to the stadium on the shuttle service.

 

Parking in the pay lots will be $8.

Assuming you are willing to pay $8 to park, want the shortest walk to/from stadium and aren't interested in tailgating, you should try to get in PS2, right? If you can't get in PS2, is there enough capacity in PS1 for everyone (other than the Boyle v. Lone Oak 4A game which it is not available for)?

 

(I guess they assume enough students will have cleared out by 2:00 PM ish on a FRI afternoon and that is why they are opening PS1 for the other 5 games?)

WKU should give in and just officially name it Egypt so everybody would know what they are talking about. I've never heard a student say "I got back late this weekend and had to park in the Creason Lot"

Falcon Fans are tailgating, I can only presume it'll be in Egypt though, since not much else in the area looks to be good.

Sorry to disappoint you oldguy, but our coaches were told today that only the Creason lot and the structures will be charging. Although Friday with classes, it is certainly "catch as catch can".

It's very difficult to find a parking place anywhere at WKU during a week day when school is in session, even if there's no events going on. "Egypt" or Creason would be your best bet, although it's for games after 3pm. I think I'll park and take the shuttle (lot is off Cambell Lane next to the intramural fields). Shuttle runs about every 8 minutes. I don't think WKU has a clue as to the number of Lone Oak faithful that plan to make the trip to BG. I'm sure Boyle Co. will have several fans coming as well. Really can't understand why KHSAA would schedule a 4A (big schools) game at 11:00am on a WKU school day?
