Brossart's Jacob Rieger

Very nice article. Really like this kids work ethic. Do you think BB will win the regional AA?

Tough kid and I saw him working out in the fall down at ASAP like many other NKY kids and he was really working hard. Running sprints pulling a sled and just seemed to be really focused. I hope he has a very nice season for the Stangs and possibly earns a shot at playing at the next level.

With a player like Rieger and a scrappy supporting cast they may be able to make a nice run.

I hope they do, always pulling for the 10th region teams to do well.

There are a handful of players when you see then as 6th graders you say to yourself, this kis has it and he's going to have a special high school career. Jacob is one of those players. Great kid too.

Great kid from a great family!

Very nice article and he is a heck of a player.

His father, Brian Rieger, was also a great player (Cov. Holy Cross) and is a great guy. If Jacob rebounds 1/2 as well as the old man did, he will be a force to contend with this year. :notworthy:

It was good to see Jacob get some press.

He is a first-class person, who very quietly gets the job done.

He would be the first person to credit his coaches and teammates for their contributions to his success.

While listed at 6'4" Jake plays much bigger than that.

He has every intention of topping off a highly successful high school career this year, and moving on to the play at the college level next fall.

He has a talented younger brother waiting in the wings to step in and keep the Rieger tradition alive next year.

Nice article and its good to see Jacob getting some recognition for his efforts. The only aspect of his game lacking in the past was his long range shot, and he seems to have worked relentlessly on improving that aspect of his game (saw on their website that he had 3 threes in their intra-squad scrimmage Friday night). Does a great job of doing all the little things like rebounding, defense, etc. besides being just a scorer; despite often giving up inches to the other teams inside guys. One of those who makes those around him better players.

Look forward to seeing him play some this year, and best of luck with his dream to play at the next level afterwards!! Nice touch in the article where he credited the kids that came before him with helping "show him how to play and handle the pressure of big games". Good to see some kids watch & learn while waiting for their chance on the big stage. Best of luck this year Jacob!! :thumb:

Saw him twice last year, both times against Mason County. Tough kid who works hard the entire game. I look for a very big year from him.:thumb:
