November 24, 200916 yr Author I have heard some rumblings that UL may be strapped for cash, and that could lead to the potential of Krags getting another year, but I cant see it. Their recruiting has not been good and there is no extension in place...would hamper recruiting more. Jones would be a nice pick up and would not cost that much...at least what it would take to get a Mike Leach.
November 24, 200916 yr ^ U of L's program will have enough money to hire whoever they wish. As much as I respect Krag's and would like him back, the fiscal downfall of his return is the final nail in the proverbial coffin regarding his future as the head cheese in the 'Ville.

November 25, 200916 yr I'm not surprised if it is money. Didn't the U of L team have really poor attendance the last few years? All I can say is that you get what you pay for usually, going cheap is not the route for U of L to take IMO.
November 25, 200916 yr Author From who? From a few reporters I talk to one person who was in UL administration as recently as last year. They may be able to pony up through some donors and such but with stadium expansion which had to be downgraded due to costs and funding to other elements. From what I understand, it would take a lot of purse string pulling to get the kind of jack it would require them to pay for someone like Leach. UL is not in UC territory when it comes to being in a money crunch and trying to find ways to pay for things but financially they don't have a lot of extra Geico stacks out there to spend.
