November 25, 200916 yr From a few reporters I talk to one person who was in UL administration as recently as last year. They may be able to pony up through some donors and such but with stadium expansion which had to be downgraded due to costs and funding to other elements. From what I understand, it would take a lot of purse string pulling to get the kind of jack it would require them to pay for someone like Leach. UL is not in UC territory when it comes to being in a money crunch and trying to find ways to pay for things but financially they don't have a lot of extra Geico stacks out there to spend. I'd say the Kraggers buyout can't help.

I wouldn't mind if they called John L. Smith. He did a good job of building the program the last time. Give him another shot.

I've also heard it will be official on Monday (I can't wait).

Strong isn't going to take a job at this point in the season, IMO. Why would he take the U of L job now, when he could get a better job later on in the off-season? Even if Strong doesn't take a HC job this season, he will still be able to do much better than U of L IMO.

And, at this point what jobs out there (aside from ND) would be so much better. The UofL job isn't as bad as some like to make it out to be. It pays well, BCS league, normally good fan support, nice facilities, etc. Strong wouldn't hestitate to take the UofL job, UofL has always recruited (until Kraggers) well in Florida... As for the timing, didn't the OC leave last year for another job? In the same conference for that matter.
