Final...big comeback by Cards!

Mayfield players consoling Rockets...Congrats to Rockets on a great game!

Mayfield players and fans all showing Gray some love. Both teams left it all on the field

What a game. You have to give it to Crittenden. They gave Mayfield every thing they could handle and more. Gray is an outstanding player who I wish nothing but the best.

Xavier Shelton just wouldn't let Mayfield lose this game.

If Mayfield makes the mistakes against Beechwood that they did tonight Beechwood will mop the field with them.

Hopefully Mayfield got the fumbles and missed blocks out of their system!

Crittenden came to play ball tonight!

Sounds like this was a great game! Congrats to both.

So........it's Mayfield vs. Beechwood in the semis. If I recall correctly, I believe these two teams have met before?:sssh::eyeonyou:

Give credit where credit is due and Crittenden played a great game. It some ways they deserved it more than we did. Crittenden is well coached and they play a clean game.

Mayfield deserves some credit for not giving up and making a nice comeback. Like someone said, if they play like that next week it wont be pretty.

I only can wonder how it might have been had we not muffed that first punt then gave up the blocked punt

Procedure penalties that Mayfield committed tonight... over and over and over again... should not be happening at this point. Fumbles on handoffs along with a couple of dropped passes were also signs that the Cards were not as mentally sharp as they should have been tonight. Nice adjustment on the defense side in the 2nd half not to let Grey break anymore long runs, they really played pretty well on the Defense side of the ball except for not containing the QB. Lot of credit to the Rockets, they knew that the first game was not representitive of what they were capable of doing and made Mayfield earn it. On the heels of last week's game at Holy Cross, special teams let the Rockets down twice tonight with a muffed punt in the 1st quarter and the blocked punt gave Mayfield the momentum they needed to stick it in for the win.

3rd down play on the Rockets last possession was the STICK of the year, I think it was Higginson who unleased a de-cleater on the Rocket wide out (still think that had to be a fumble).

Sounds like this was a great game! Congrats to both.

Trying to stay undefeated against the Beechies. :ylsuper:

What if mayfield doesn't fumble on two of first three possessions...lots of quick momentum swings!

Yea I knew we would have to play perfect to stay close and catch a break or 2. I for one knew that mayfield wasn't 5 or 6 tds better than us after the last game, 2-3 maybe, but our boys proved me wrong tonight. Our Line play was really good tonight, and total class by the Mayfield players, fans and coaches to all seek out JD Gray after the game. That boy is a football player and does more with his limited size and speed than anyone I've seen. Best game of the series ever IMO! Wish we coulda pulled out the W.

Since our game wasn't the most entertaining I kept checking the update thread for this game. Sounds like both teams let it all hangout tonight. I tend to root for the underdogs so I was somewhat pulling for Crit. But Mayfield came back to finish strong. Goodluck next week against Beechwood. Remember to be the best you have to take out the best!! I'll be rooting for you next week!

Beechwood does owe them. The undefeated record against them might go this year but it will end in the next coming years.
