Headphones

Featured Replies

Sennheiser is a good company, but more known for their microphones than headphones. I know they make a darn good microphone, but the only set of Sennheiser headphones I've used were really, really shotty, with LOTS of static.

I got some Ear Pollution Nerve Pipes "over-the-ear" headphones for about $40 (on sale) at Hastings and IMO, they're really good headphones with excellent bass (which is important for me because I'm a bass player and often times practice by plugging into my laptop and running Amplitube's Ampeg SVX program). I peeled off the clearance price sticker after purchasing and found that they were around $60 before they went on clearance. You can currently buy them online for $34.95.

As a plus, you can select your own logos and colors.

IMO, I think a pair in the $40-$70 range is reasonable. That way you know you get a good pair of headphones, but didn't have to take out a loan to purchase them and possibly replace them should you step on them, run over them with the car, dog eats the cord, etc.

Here's a link and some details about Nerve Pipes:

I too have the skull candys. I got them at Best buy and love them

If you had to pick which ones would you go with? My friend recommended the Sennheiser pmx 200's. Any thoughts on those?

I would go with the Sony between those two.

Any specific model?

There are several to choose from:

Sony MDR-V6

Sony MDR7506

Sony MDR-V700DJ

Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Canceling Headphones

They are good workhorses. I have a pair and also have a pair of the pcx100's which are a little cheaper but everybit as good. My favs are my Bose quiet comfort 3 headphones. Much more expensive, but worth it.

Anything you don't like about the pmx2000's?

A former Ky wrestler with cauliflower ear? Say it isn't so.

Sound quality is good for the price. I am assuming you want the neck band style due to working out with them on. The ear clips can be a little tight but fortunately fit me well. I can see how that might be a negative though as there is not a lot you can do to adjust the clips if they do not fit well. The PX 100's are much more comfortable but if you are really moving around quite a bit during your workout, they may not stay in place.

i have the Altec Lansing Backbeat 903!

These are bluetooth, and the sound quality is excellent. They also work with your bluetooth capable cell phone!

I have a pair of Sansui SS-20 Headphones...From the 70s...I must say I love them...
