I think i'm ready to take the leap and stop getting El Cheapo headphones. Here are my criteria:

 

1. NO earbuds---I have slight cauliflower ear and earbuds really start to hurt no matter how comfortable they claim to be. This is the most important thing.

 

2. Excellent sound quality.

 

3. Bluetooth. This would be a HUGE plus...but it isn't necessary and I'm not willing to sacrifice much sound quality for it.

 

4. Resistant to water---this would just be an added bonus, but it would be nice to be able to take them to the gym and not have to worry about sweat messing them up. But if I have to I can wear a pair of cheapo's for that.

 

Any suggestions?

WAY back in the day I had a set of Koss headphones that I loved. I guess the company is still around.

I checked out the Beats by Dr Dre at Best Buy recently. Expensive but very nice.

Skull Candy's are under $100. The Skullcrushers (over the ear) are really good.

Sennheiser is a good headphone. I am partial to the Sony headphones but I don't like the earbuds. I can never get them to stay in place. I have used both Sennheiser and Sony in the recording studio and both are nice sounding phones.

Sony has some OK bluetooth headphones for around $79-99.

Ear buds have always hurt my ears too, but I found a pair at wal-mart that are like a Marshmallow type, they are great and have never bothered my ears at all!

I got Tim a pair of over the ear Skull Crushers to wear on the bus for away games.....he loved them. I wear them now, usually when I mow the lawn, but they're great! They shake when the bass hits too.

I have Sony/Koss but want to try a Bose set I saw for a little over $100. I hate trying the demo set that they have front all the folks who put their heads on them....

Skull Candy makes a pretty good product.
