November 8, 200916 yr There will be an all star game this Saturday Nov 14th at Simon kenton High school at 6pm. Come out to see some of the finest 8th graders from the area play in the their final middle school game before they play freshman ball next year.

With the athleticism of the Bengal Tigers and Red Devils, I'm not sure how the NKYFL CAN'T win. What will be the practice schedule for the NKYFL All-Stars? Who will coach?

They would play for a very good coach if they do..Coach Lickert has done a great job at Holmes getting those kids to believe and play with passion..:thumb:

You put Scruggs/Beal/Peterson and Avery (QB right?) for Holmes on same field and you have some athletes.:eek:

I heard that there would be additional players from CCRD at the practice tonight???? Also, I'm confused by a couple of things.... 1) Why would the two teams who made it to the Superbowl, not have far and away the most players on the roster? 2) Why wouldn't the coaches from the two teams who made it to the Superbowl not be co-head coaches? 3) Why would some of your most explosive offensive players not be playing offense? The practice last night was somewhat head shaking:confused: :ohbrother: :confused:
November 10, 200916 yr Slemac90, your questions is the reason why we did away with the NKYFL All Star games it usually turns into a popularity contest and not all the right players get chosen to participate. All Star teams are never fair. JD

All Star teams are never fair. JD JD, I think there should be All Star games, I just think the makeup of the coaching staff and roster should make sense based on how teams finish the year.

The Red Devils legitimately have 8 or 9 players that could be better than the top player form Newport or Dayton this year. Consider injuries in a "meaningless" game. Slemac, I know you are familiar with Geiman as a basketball player. Not to wish him any luck, but what about his basketball season if he were to get hurt.
November 10, 200916 yr FRONT ROW, I agree pick them according to they deserve it not because they are an outgoing senior leaving the program whom did not even start for that team. I agree award a player with a patch or plaque however playing a game that does not mean anything is putting players in a tough situation. If rules are setup for the league and coaches to pick the all stars then I agree not the players or fans. JD
November 10, 200916 yr Author The head coach is determined by the finsihing of the previous year. Not the current year so that we know ahead of time and can prepare. So it was Jay leftin from last years winning superbowl but could not do it bc cause of his other coaching job. So it went to Nick Rabe of the Erlanger Lions who was the the superbowl runner up in 2008. This gave us ample time to let him get things in order since the coaching was determined.
