Ballard Memorial 33 Bethlehem 28

One heck of a game!

Is Mayfield playing Ballard now?

Yes.

Two years in a row that Ballard Memorial has went on the road in the first round and won a game. I thought they were better than their record and they proved it.

A rash of turnovers led to the Bombers going up 27-7 early in the second quarter, but Bethlehem rallied to cut it to 27-21 at halftime. Nothing for either team in the second half until Bethlehem got a 15-yard TD run by Casey Robinson to take the lead with 6:31 to play.

The Eagles appeared to have locked it up when they sacked QB Alex Mallory on a 3rd and 12 near midfield, but a questionable flag for unnecessary roughness on the play made it 4th and 3 instead of 4th and a mile with 2:33 to play. The Bombers converted on a Mallory keeper, then a handful of plays later Mallory hit Tye Prince for a fantastic one-handed grab for a 15-yard score to retake the lead with 1:20 left. A Bethlehem interception on the ensuing drive ended it.

Whale of a game.

I'd like to see what Mallory could do on a team that could put talent around him

Very nice player for the Bombers!

Yes. Mike is his father.

That's what I thought
