Ashland 46 Boyd County 0

Very nice win for the Tomcats. Domination from the beginning of the game. Good Luck to the boys in the playoffs!

How many total yards offense did Boyd Co. have?

Ashland sure has their work cut out for them in the playoffs. I ventured up north to see Highlands last night.

Best of luck in the playoffs! I hope you get it done!

How many total yards offense did Boyd Co. have? ....

I believe it was 7 yards of total offense (3-rushing, 4-passing). This annual match-up just isnt what it used to be.

Congratulations Tomcats on finishing the regular season at 9 – 1.

Best of luck in getting ready for the second season.

I thought Ashland would dominate, but wow, 7 yards of offense?

Great job to the Tomcats, good luck in the playoffs.

I heard that's all they had. That's why I asked.

Why is Ashland keeping starters in, and going for two points when your team is up big?

Boyd was still fighting hard until late in the game, for sure they gave their all in the 3rd quarter and starting off the 4th quarter. If your a coach you don't want to start subbing too much until the heat is off if, for no other reason, than to keep players of equal strength out there to meet the challenge. To my knowledge Ashland starters were off the field and being subbed for while coach Evans was making his changes. So Ashland and Boyd subbed at exactly the same time.

Great season, Tomcats! Now, the real season begins.

Will this type of score be similar for the next few years?

Under the existing circumstances, Yes. Should that be the result? No

Same reason they were kicking onside kicks while up 35-0. Also same reason why their starters were running over our Freshman. Also same reason why they were taunting our fan section after every TD.

I will state though, only one to blame is BOYD CO. No Fight, No desire and they honestly believe losing is OK. I for one am darn tired of turning the other cheek and ready to start fighting...Anyone with me????

Congrats to Ashland, they have a good team, but did try to run the score up last night.

Ashland having a great season. Good luck in the playoffs.

All those Tomcat “starters” running over that “freshman”? What do you expect Ashland do?...put in a cheerleader?...a trainer?...how about the mascot?

“Taunting (your) fan section after every TD”? Surely not! Not at a Boyd/Ashland football game.

Face it. Boyd Co football has suffered for years. Under one of my favorite area coaching legends, former Tomcat, Bill Tom Ross, Boyd had a record of 22 – 21 (1998 – 2001) with only ONE winning season.

Then comes Dane Damron, who’s cumulative record was 24 – 22 with ONE winning regular season (2002).

Now you have yet another Tomcat coach at the helm in Lee Evans with a cumulative record of 18 – 27 with TWO winning seasons.

As for your reference that Ashland “did try to run the score up”…well, if that had been the case, Boyd would have been beaten by 64 instead of 46.

I sense your frustration though, and I would be too (hey, Im a UK football fan…nuff said)…but don’t take such a sour grape approach to this Tomcat win…take a look at your own program and fix it.

I MISS THIS GAME BEING A RIVALRY!

Great post Painter.

I meant no harm by stating that Ashland tried to run the score up, as they did, but hey it is "Ashland vs Boyd Co". Boyd county would do the same(if they could).

Boyd County has been slapped in the face multiple times this year, and did not know how to respond. We have lost our fight. We have been taught they losing is OK. BUT IT IS NOT!!

A change will be made, and has to be made, but the big question is, "Is it too late?".

The huge difference in Boyd County sports and Ashland at this point is two things:

1. Coaching

2. All kids play all sports. (I could name you a 20 kids that was a star in all sports at a young age that only plays one sport at BC right now. That doesnt happen anywhere else.)

#2 happens at Greenup every year,

#2 happens at Greenup every year,

Sad that our kids are forced to make these decisions. Even more sad that the parents dont stand up to the coaches and speak their mind.

Most coaches care about one thing, and that is "their team", not the school or the player.
