Lincoln was looking for their first win last year and was given no chance in this game. Lincoln won easily.

 

I think both teams are weaker this year, but I see Lincoln winning not as easily as last year but again by a comfortable margin, there is just a huge difference between 5A and 3A.

 

From the Garrard games that I have watched this year, if they don't find a way to get Tyler Ray the ball more in this game it could be an easy win for Lincoln County.

Lincoln wins by 10 points.

I would have to go with Lincoln County in this one by 7 pts. Really would not see Garrard beating Meade, Mercer or South Laurel.

They have certainly not played to that level. Their two most recent games (Taylor loss and Casey win) have been the most disappointing of the season. In the minds of most GCHS fans, TYLER RAY does not get enough touches. He's a horse that does not get saddled up nearly enough. More of the same won't be enough for a win against the Pats this week. Look for Lincoln to have a big night running the football.

I was looking at their season stats on one website and one kid has 50 more touches running the ball for less yards than Tyler Ray. Knowing something about football, that doesn't add up to being successful on offense. The games I have watched, Tyler Ray is by far their best option at moving the ball on offense. I believe I would have lined him up at quarterback and spread the field.

Garrard has used Ray taking the direct snap in the Wildcat at various times throughout the season. Against West Jessamine, they struggled to move the ball against West Jess' massive line, but when they went to the Wildcat, they moved the ball very effectively. I would not be surprised to see more of the Wildcat for the Golden Lions as it has been effective. Ray and Hayes are a nice tandem to have.

I couldn't think of the other kids name(Hayes) that ran the ball. They are a nice pair of runners. I believe I would put the Ray kid at QB and I would make the defense stop Ray and Hayes. They would have the ball 80% of the time.

Fred Hayes and Tyler Ray are a very solid tandem. Fred has a younger brother (I think) named Markell who may just be a sophomore who will be a good one in the future for the Golden Lions. Abney has developed as a QB, but they are still a running team. I wouldn't mind seeing Dowell in at FB and run some power sets with he, Ray and Hayes.

I may have meant Caudill, but I do believe that Dowell actually ran the ball at least once in the Jackson County game. I know he leads the team in tackles and would think he would make a good lead blocker from time to time.

Garrard County would be perfectly capable of beating Meade, Mercer and South Laurel. I'm almost sure they would beat Madison Southern and Washington County.

 

I agree on Madison Southern and Washington Co. But Meade, Mercer and SL are a better football team than Garrard, IMO. I've seen all of them play (including Garrard) and I don't think the would fair to well against those teams.
