Ashland at Boyd Co. - two old cross county rivals.

There are no district titles on the line these days, and no playoff implications either - just pride.

What are your thoughts on this one?

Boyd County isn't as bad as their record shows. They gave away a win against Raceland, played Belfry tough, got hit by a rash of injuries and the swine flu against Fairview and Russell, and just got done coming within 10 points of a very good Lawrence County team.

That being said, I expect Ashland to win. I just don't think it will be the blowout most will expect.

Both Tomcats and Lions have loads of pride. But the cats have more then just pride. Ashland has loads more talent, backup players and speed. It wont take the tomcat running backs long before they start breaking away on long runs. The tomcats will wear down the lions and end the regular season with a big win over a rival. Ashland +20

A tune-up game for the playoffs!!

Boyd Co. has a way of surprising teams that take them too lightly. Russell’s state championship team in 2005 suffered their only loss to Boyd Co. In 2003 Boyd traveled to Bell Co. and got the upset win to set up a re-match with the Tomcats that year.

The Tomcats better take this one seriously - records can be deceiving!

Ashland keeps tuning up for their playoff run.

Tomcats 45

Lions 6

I have seen Boyd Co. play and they are not as bad as there 2-7 record is , so with that I think Ashland wins in a closer game then most think. The Tomcats win 16-6 over the Lions in a old fashion slug feast.

As bad as Ashland wants it to be. They may not play their starters much to rest them and not risk injury before next weeks playoff game.

A Boyd Co. victory would make their season.

Tomcats, it would be dangerous to look past this game!

This is a rival game. I doubt your tomcats will be taking the lions to lightly. BC doesn't have the speed to keep up. The lions will play hard though. But speed kills and Ashland has all of it in this game. Boyd has a good QB. But even if he breaks away he will be run down shortly. If the Tomcats play their game they will be just fine.

This isn't going to happen...

YES Boyd Co has a real good QB in Arthur but know line to block. Every team they have played is in his face. BlLTZ, BLITZ, BLITZ that's all he sees. This could be a good game, but I don't think so. Just wondering if BC should go to the Gun for the whole game. This just might be the ticket to stay close and just might be able to score. Ashland has SPEED, SPEED on both sides of the ball and we all know Ashland will score alot.
