After they gave up a fumble on the opening kick off and Cov. Cath scoring on a short field, Dixie Heights dominated the game.

Do we have any footage shot from the sideline?

(Is it too soon to be asking?)

Dixie brought 7 varsity starters to play in this JV matchup. CCH played 90% sophomores. The game that counted was played the night before. So I guess Dixie really wanted to win a meaningless game.

Really, is this the way you want to go. Pike is a starter but not a QB and #50 has started but did not on Friday. If you look at the kids that played for Dixie most were sophomores, so yes the game that counted was Friday night but lets not whine about playing varsity players and just accept that Dixes "JV" team won the game.

Are you telling me no kids that played yesterday played any varsity on Friday night?

Shouldn't have gone there football dog, Dixie won the game fair and square!

Win with class, lose with class!

Please name the 7. It is easy to throw numbers out there but Dixie starts way to many seniors for them to have had 7 starters playing JV unless they had seinors playing. Besides that Dixie has had so many injuries on varsity it is more likely they had JV starters playing varsity than the other way around.

Congrats to Dixie. Lets not forget that Dixie has a very talented group of sophomores that were very good last year as freshmen. I agreed with you TOG give Dixie their credit, they played well and won.

I heard that Dixie's front 7 overwhelmed CCH's o-line.

I hope they did. I want my JV boys going up against talented kids.

I did think of another one, #19 did start varsity on Friday so that would have been 3 but I am not sure they had enough defensive backs to field a team without him and he was a JV starter for most of the season. Also he is a sophomore.

I wasn't at either game, but I could probably guess which players played in both games.

#14 - Pike (sophomore) needs reps at QB, and the JV level is the only way to get it. It's the only position he plays on the JV level.

#3 - Cohorn (sophomore) has been getting some opportunities at the varsity level recently.

#4 - Menkhaus (junior) has been playing safety at the varsity level for some time now due to injuries.

#9 - Bruns (sophomore) has been the varsity return specialist, and gets little time at RB and DB.

#19 - Moore (sophomore) has been getting some time at DB on varsity.

#61 - Carr (sophomore) looked like he might have gotten some kicks in the varsity game, but that would be the first time this year. He has been the JV kicker all year.

Dixie's varsity has had some injuries on their defense that has caused them to play numerous underclassmen, especially in the defensive backfield (Wolf, Raleigh, Leonard). They've also had some injuries to deal with on the defensive line this year where some underclassmen probably filled in. The guys mentioned above have been given opportunities on the varsity level, but the only consistent starter out of the group is Pike. However, his situation is different from the others as they have to get him reps at QB, if he's the QB of the future. This is only his 2nd year playing the position.

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with any of those guys playing JV. Personally, I don't care who plays JV for a team as long as they are a junior or below.

I agree. However, people jump the gun before knowing the circumstances, and we've all done it before. Now that the quality of football in NKY has grown tremendously within the last decade, I just don't think there's a program around anymore that is going to put that much weight into a JV game. Schools aren't going to move kids down to JV just to say they beat so-and-so. Schools and coaches know that the only score that counts is on Friday night (or a Saturday afternoon).
