October 19, 200917 yr Back in the summer the local United Way chapter had a dinner and auction to raise money. Someone donated their season tickets for the Jacksonville game on 11/1 to the auction. My dad bought the tickets so he and I could go. I am not really a Titans fan but I have never been to a NFL game so thought it would be fun. Plus the Titans had such a good year last year I figured what the heck. Now they are 0-6 and coming off one of the worst beat downs in NFL history. Figures.
October 19, 200917 yr Author "It's one thing to fall to 0-6, but it's another to get beat that way and look like you quit." "The Titans gave up 5 touchdown passes in the second quarter. The Tennessee defense gave up 12 touchdown passes for the entire 2008 season."...19 passing TD's allowed this season. Another question that was raised in an article I read...If Jeff Fisher weren't so established already, would he be gone by now????
October 19, 200917 yr Bad season. The lost three games early they could have easily won and it's snowballed from there with injuries, lack of confidence, etc. Not much else to be said. Naturally, people are talking about Fisher now, but they have a good head coach. Firing him isn't the answer. The NFL is a league about QB's and playmakers. The Titans have one playmaker and no quarterback. Look at the Bengals...without Palmer they were terrible last year and without him this season they'd be 0-6. Tennessee has to get a QB and they need to replace Haynesworth... Looks like they'll be in good position to do that with the upcoming draft.
October 19, 200917 yr Was Haynesworth really that big of a difference for the Titans? I mean I know he was a great player but man come on, I've never seen one player have this much of an impact on one team after leaving.

I mean I know he was a great player but man come on, I've never seen one player have this much of an impact on one team after leaving. He was a huge difference maker defensively. His ability to draw double teams all the time left openings for the other linemen on the Titan's defense to pressure the QB. Since the Titans don't seem willing to blitz as often now to compensate for his departure it makes a huge difference. Their defense would dictate the pace of the game and keep them from playing catchup offensively. They aren't built to do that and it shows when they get behind.

The also lost their defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz, and down essentially their entire secondary. Losing one play can have a huge impact. Remember Bob Sanders' impact from a few seasons ago. Insert Sanders and they were a new defense.
October 19, 200917 yr I think this is the biggest shocker of the young football season. Side note: Saw a blurb that the owner would not give Jeff Fisher a vote of confidence but rather that he needed to turn this team around.

But wasn't he out most of the season last year?
October 19, 200917 yr Hayensworth along with the boys in Minny are the best in the league up inside. D Coordinator was a big loss. I can of expected them to be better on offense with better WR's. The secondary has been really suprising to me. I thought they had a lot of talent back there. Collins did an outstanding job protecting the ball last year...not so much this year. L. White seems like he hasn't even started the season and now he's hurt.
October 19, 200917 yr But wasn't he out most of the season last year? I also overlooked the departure of their defensive coordinator.
