If they want Meyer, they need to tough it out a year, IMO. It's going to be hard to get him out of there after this season, Title or not.

I think they will always have a good shot with Kelly. He isn't going to leave UC for just any job, so unless something like Michigan, OSU, or something like that comes available, they should wait for the right moment to make a change, if they are going after Meyer first and then Kelly. JMO though.

I have no inside sources, but the few ND alum I know are talking Gruden.

So the pac 10 officials were biased towards Notre Dame?:idunno:

I thought the unsportsmanlike penalties and at least 2 of the late hits were very poor calls, calls that were NOT being made against Notre Dame.

I don't think they should go the pro route again...

I know there were some questionable calls both ways. There was a pass interference NO call for USC. The announcers even said it should of been a flag.

I was not saying it was a poorly officiated game. I am asking how 2 games in a row vs PAC 10 schools you get PAC 10 officials at ND? I would think they would be from somewhere other than the PAC 10. How do they determine who goes to what games?

I actually think that Jon Gruden would flourish at Notre Dame.

I hope they keep Chuck though. He is actually a pretty good guy and a heck of a recruiter. The guy must be able to talk if Michael Floyd commited after a 38-0 loss to USC. He finally has his players and going into the USC game he was 11 seconds from being undefeated. His team fought and almost beat a tough USC team.

If you look at who he has brought to the program, going into next year they could have the best QB (Clausen), TE (Rudolph), and top five WR's (Tate, Floyd) in the country.

ND did get a 4 star WR recruit to committ today.

Yeah Tai-ler Jones looks a lot like a Golden Tate. He was commited to Stanford, where his dad went, but after visiting Notre Dame this weekend he shocked everyone and switched his commitment.

I agree 100%. I think that Charlie will be fine if ND will leave him alone. I think if Clausen and Tate come back, ND has a great shot at a National Championship next year.

They cant do anything until they shore up that defense.

The good thing about the D is that they are young. With Chris Martin coming in next year as a pure pass rusher, I think they can be much improved.

Agreed, the pieces are there on defense. They are getting good recruits there every year. Blanton, Gray, and Walls are all four or five star corners, the line backing core is very strong and all return and that d-line has really shown what they can do in the last two games (only giving up 121 yards to USC is pretty good) and they bring in Martin next year.

I'm telling you Notre Dame is getting back to where they were. Give Charlie one more year and let him show you what his team can do.

Charlie has done a good job this year, but i do have one complaint.

Why didnt he use his last time out with about 25 seconds left. Instead he left the clock run which in turn only left him with two quick plays to try and find the endzone.

It's negotiated in the contract. If the visiting team is from a major conference, they will stipulate having their own conference officials. Depends on how much negotiating leverage the visiting team has.
