buttels Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 How many programs have girls on the field?? I believe Bellevue has a kicker, but how many more?? What is the feeling on the staff about this??
FC Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 If I remember right, Fort Knox had a female kicker.
FC Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 A female related football story: In 2005 Fort Campbell was playing against a team, can’t remember who, that had a female player. The leader of the Fort Campbell defense that year was Micah Johnson, a 245 lb D1 linebacker. Fort Campbell’s opponent was on offense and preceded to hand the ball off to this female player. She ran a sweep and straight toward Micah. Instead of tackling her, Micah literally just picked her up and gingerly set her down out of bounce. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on a football field. The entire stadium erupted in laughter.

Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Cov Cath won't ever have any females on the team

I met Micah back in August (and got my picture taken with him, lol) and the boy is HUGE!!! I MEAN HUUUUUUGE!!! :scared:
rhoalphadelt Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I think it shows a lot from schools that don't shy away from allowing a girl to try and participate. I know that some coaches would be against a girl on the team. I give Coach Eckstein credit at Bellevue for doing it. From what I have seen of the team, it has paid off. She is much better PAT Kicker than tehy have had in recent years.

I MEAN HUUUUUUGE!!! :scared: I remember when Micah was a Junior and Senior and thought he was rather large at that time. He looks like he has grown in height and weight when I see him now. If I met him in a dark alley, I wouldn't even run because I know he would catch me.
FC Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Does anyone know what team she played for? I’m curious now that I posted it. I’m thinking it might have been Edmonson County? BTW, sorry buttels, I didn’t mean to highjack.
RAMS68_1 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 NO GIRLS Nothing against females. Lord knows we love them. Most of us!! But they are not as strong, as fast and they can't jump with the male players. I have seen a few try. It's ok until it's contact time. Blocking, tackling and all the other physical things you do . But to be a male cheerleader. Now thats a sport!!!:lol::notworthy::ylsuper::idunno:

Jim Schue Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 If I remember right, Fort Knox had a female kicker. Yup. :thumb: Unfortunately for the Eagles, she doesn't get a lot of work.
RAMS68_1 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Colorado had a kicker for a few years. Look what happened. Coaches lost jobs. Players and coaches went to court. It almost killed the program for years.
