Injured or not I'll take Bardo over West. The game plan on holding him back for the St.X game worked as planned. Compare the schedules of Highlands and Conner, Highlands has played a tougher schedule. I not taking anything away from West but as the best in Nky. I beg to differ!!! I agree with Highlands as the best team in the State of Kentucky.

If you gave both respective quaterbacks the same receivers, you would see that West puts the ball on the money 9 times out of 10 and he has a lightning fast release. He is also mobile. With all due respect I wouldn't say Conner is great with or without West. West doesn't have near the mobility that Bardo has. He is a good QB, but IMO is not the all around QB that Bardo is.

I mentioned that I don't want to take anything away from West because West is a good QB, however my choice would be Bardo. By the way receivers are going to miss balls thrown to them unfortunately that happens. I do agree with you Bardo has very good receivers but even good receivers drop the ball some times. A good receiver can help the QB as much as a good QB can make the receiver look good. It's a team sport not and individual sport and stats are not the most important part of the game. By the way without a good line the QB and receivers are not very effective and Highlands has a very good line as well with Schlosser, Grubbs, Combs, Hahn, Meyers and Welz!!!

All good points Camp..I guess I ranked Ft Campbell that high because of the undefeated record, they've won back to back 2a titles, produces a good # of D1 prospects and this years version appears to be there best yet. I remember alot of people thinking Central was a Top 10 team the past couple of years and they were just a 3a team and lost most of the games they played against the bigger, better teams. To me, Ft Campbell has the type athletes that can compete against the bigger schools. Alcoa, Tn is also a 2a team in Tn and they would be a Top 5 team in any class in Tn.

 

I also see what you're saying about Lex Cath. They did beat Cov Cath though and also LCA and played very competitively with Boyle Co and Lone oak, 2 very good teams.

 

As far as LCA and Mayfield are concerned, you could well be right, but, I feel they could beat those teams also and when you add the entire of body of work, consistency and record, I think they both deserve some recognition.

 

I could have easily thrown several other teams in there, like Mason Co, Central, Allen Co-Scots, Conner, Marion Co, Corbin, Prestonsburg..You could certainly make an argument for any of them...

I am just not sold on Lone Oak. Their best win is against Lexington Cath and that win isn't all that good. Cath had to go to Paducah and it took overtime for LO to win it. On top of that Lex Cath is down this year with no real quality wins, other then maybe Cov Cath but how good are they really. Lone Oak's opponents are a combined 22-36 with only 3 teams having .500 record or better. Their other 5 opponents have a combined record of 9-28.

Central should be on here...somewhere 15-20, IMO. They beat Ballard and only have losses to powerful 6A clubs (yet they beat 6A Ballard).

 

Conner should be in the mix, I think.

 

I would also have to rank Oldham County in this bunch, between 20-25. I would delete Mayfield.

Certainly the knock on Lone Oak 2 yrs ago was the fact that there schedule was horrible, anyone saying otherwise is delusional, but, I will be the 1st to admit, they are making great strides to beef things up and take the next step with the elite teams across the state. The future looks very bright in Purple Flash land...:thumb:

I would love to see a game between Highlands vs St X, Boyle Co vs Lone Oak, LCA vs Mayfield, Simon Kenton vs Scott Co. These would be great games. Also Ft Campbell vs Murray that would be a offensive show. I don't know about the rankings. They tend to just be for the fans and gauge somewhat close to where you may be. So anything up their looks good to me. I would just love to see some of the matchups. These polls change weekly because they are only a gauge where a team may be. But they do cause excitement. Right UK Fball Fan!

 

Many thought the same thing last year, but in the playoffs the reality was FC 47 & Murray 0! FC is on a completely different level this season!

I would put Boyle in front of Ft. Campbell and Bowling green but other than that looks pretty good.

I would put FC against any team in Class 1A - 4A in Bowling Green the first weekend in December and would clear some space in the trophy case for some hardware!

 

Against teams in 5A & 6A that same weekend, I think FC would be challenged by the populaton difference. FC would have too many players playing both ways and not the same depth in the 2nd and 3rd depth chart.

 

FC handled 5A Warren Central a few weeks ago & shut-out Christian County in the Fort Campbell Jamboree in August. Those two teams however, are not nicknamed the Bluebirds.

Boyle crushed 6A Lafayette a week after they beat Henry Clay. Boyle could have scored 90 if they wanted to. Did have a bit of a let down in the second half of the Catholic game. But when you score enough points in the first 4 minutes of a game to beat a team that is also considered one of the best in the state thats pretty impressive. This years Highlands team seems to be on another level but Boyle held their own in that series as well a few years back when they played each season.

Maybe, but, I feel Ft Campbell would easily handle Lone Oak, likely 3+ scores and I also feel they would handle Lex Cath very similarily..I think it would be a tossup..I definately don't think they would be out talented, by any means. Likely the other way around. Ft Campbell most likely has more D1 prospects than Boyle does. I know that doesn't mean they would automatically win, but, it does usually mean they would hold there own..

No way Cov Cath is Top 25 material.
