It was 21-0 Raceland. We made several mistakes in this game offensively. We had 4 TURNOVERS! Turnovers kill you in close games! We are still having problems scoring in the redzone as well. However, I do want to brag on the defense. They played very well tonight. Paris' offense could not get anything done against the rams defense. Especially through the air, the qb was bieng chased and pressured all night. Pretty good achievement for the rams since Paris did put up 22 against Fairview.

Still not playing like we did against East Carter yet.! But next week is the first real test in district play.

You made a lot of good points Ram Fan04. 1. Played bad on offense. 2. Way to many mistakes for game #7. 3. Scoring in the red zone. 1st and go on the 5. 1st and go on the 9.

I can't believe we won a game 21-0 and I'm upset over the way we played.:taz::idunno:

I was told the Mckee boy did not play or did not see alot of action along with serveral other boys that did not dress . Is the flu bug hitting Raceland to play slugish in this game that everyone said would be a blow out. Could Paris be better than the Rams Nation thought they would be.

^ I haven't heard about the flu hitting us hard or not but I certainly wouldn't doubt it. Raceland could very well have had some kids limited or out for this reason but I am not sure.

Fairview was another school in the area that was closed down for most of this past week bc of the flu. I hope that all schools everywhere can get through this flu running wild and get everyone healthy.

RF, were the turnovers forced from good hits or were they do to lack of concentration, execution on our part?

Also, we have to put points on the board when in the "orange" zone (as I refer to it instead of red zone). I would like to see at least 80% or higher td's and 20% fg's when in the orange zone, never come away from it w/o points on the board.

Rams.....Time has ran out for getting by with a less than 110% effort. Every game left is a very tough opponet and every opponet left are considred by most as better than us and can beat us if not completely focused on every play of every possesion in every quarter of every game!

It’s a relief to see the record get above .500 for the Rams and getting this most recent W on the road is another good sign things are starting to get on track. This Raceland team is finally starting to gain some momentum…and that’s a very good thing considering the next three opponents are at the opposite end of the spectrum from the most recent three.

 

The Rams have yet to be at full force all season long and have had to deal with multiple distractions, not to mention a restless and vocal fan base.

 

Time to circle the wagons Raceland…chalk up the past to experience, get healthy, and above all else, just focus on arch rival Fairview.

 

The Eagles have lost 4 consecutive years to the Rams…in fact, 2004 was the last time Fairview has won this match-up. Don’t think for an instant these Fairview seniors are not focusing on Raceland.

^ Thanks for the stats TCA. I can see the "Orange Crush" defense definately showed up. (-10 ) yard rushing and only (24) yards passing with 2 picks! I am not too good at math but that tells me that the Orange Crush held Paris to a total 14 yards total offense.

Lack of concentration. One fumble was Barr which is to be expected he hasn't played a live game in almost a year. The other was Farley in the backfield. If i'm coach Hoof, this week i'm working with Farley on staying in the pocket. He tends to scramble way to soon and tends to panic, and that's when bad things happen. I believe that is when both of his interceptions occured, was out of the rollout or scramble. He's an excellent pocket passer. One of the better ones I have seen at Raceland. I would like to see him get back to going downfield like he did in the BC game in the beginning of the year. He has a strong arm, and Loren Huffman can catch anything you throw at him. Paris had man to man coverage all night on Huffman on the outside. I don't think Loren will face a DB all season that can cover him one on one. But i'm sure the coaches are watching this film and saying the same thing. They'll have the boys ready to play come friday night!

^ To add to my post 21 points is the least amount of points Raceland has scored on Paris in almost 10 years! It's the least amount since 2000's score of 3(Aaron Pettrey).

Good luck to Paris in the remainder of the season, they will be facing LCA this week.

 

On defense, Raceland's defensive front did as good of a job as expected. The secondary still needs to provide better coverage, and kick off coverage is still an area of concern, contain, contain, contain, and by the way, did I say contain?

 

Barr and Litteral ran hard and gained a great deal of their yardage after first contact. Huffman had a good game with a good TD reception and one INT, and several tackles. Hats off to Huffman.

 

The offensive line did a good job after they settled in. Defensive line really came a live and shut down the run.

 

Raceland just needs to do a better job of reading the defense, their were running lanes and open receivers, but we have to do a better job of reading what the defense is giving us, that is the one thing that is missing on offense, read it, and take it.
