Boone was able to move the ball they just had no chance of stopping the Highlands passing game and they even struggled with open field tackling just not sound defensive unit.

Please elaborate on this.

 

A. He's inexperienced at the varsity level.

B. If he wants to play in college (and he can) he will need to add some strength.

 

I'm not criticizing him. He's the best passer in NKY.

It's for the kids! They enjoyed it. It wasn't intended for the adults that are living vicariously through the students...

Boone could not stop Highlands in the first half with all the number 1's in. The offense is potent as long as they hold on to the ball, they held on to the ball tonight. Come out next week, hold on to the ball, wrap up on defese and see what happens.

Birds roll in this one and without Collinsworth. Great game for Highlands.

The score was 36-7 at half. Bardo didn't play at all in the 2nd half and Collinsworth didn't dress. It could of been really ugly if they wanted it to be. I believe Dale has been holding some stuff back for next week. I guess we'll see..:thumb:

 

Once again,birds up 36-7 in the 4th quarter and Roller is still in the game,why?He was all over the place tonight. He still is having to fight off a blocker or two before making the tackle.He was making plays sideline to sideline and even got a pick.Dierig played a great game tonight also. Birds still need to work on outside containment. Over all good game both O and D . (JMO)

I said in another thread about the starters being in the game the whole time. Because next week they won't come off the filed. Mueller was getting them ready for a long and hard battle coming next Friday. Unfortunately it came at Boones expense.

 

Roller played a great game as did the whole team. The downfield blocking last night was a thing of beauty. Our lineman and recievers did as well as they have done all year.

 

I think things are clicking just at the right time for these guys to do something special this week. Keep it going boys!

That is a good question I was asking myself that in the stands. Rested Collinsworth, and took Bardo out at half time but left most of the other starters in.

 

I will say this their is definitly a premium on Bardo if he goes down the Birds are in trouble. That is a smart move by Dale.

It sounds to me like once again tonight Bardo was lofting the ball up and his speedy receivers were running under it. Bardo has a good arm but the Bluebird receivers are what impresses me. Correct me if I am wrong because I was not at the game. I am very interested in seeing the Bluebird passing game go against St. X next week. I have a feeling St. X. will have the speed to match the Bluebird receivers and they will put more pressure on Bardo than he has seen all year. Bluebird fans have to be excited about finally getting to see how they stack up against the best of the best.

 

You are very correct. The Highlands receivers are very fast, and they adjust to the ball pretty well. Boone's defensive backs kept allowing the receivers to get behind them, and you just can't do that when you have a QB like Bardo putting it up in the air. IMO, Boone should make all skilled players that aren't in baseball, run track during the spring. This was my first time seeing Highlands live and I think next week will be very interesting. They finally get to play another team that has the ability to play with select talent.
