WKUFan your positivism is a good attribute and you're a true fan for sure but if you can't see some pontentially bad bad blowouts in the future..eek. As for CCHS having more talent. I don't think they do necessarily. I just think they're a lot better than 14 points...

I have just bought into Coach Wirth and his staff. I think this team has potential to finish 5 – 5, that’s not good but for them it would be huge, and if they could get to the 3rd rd of the playoffs that would be huge for these JR’s and SOPH. And for these seniors, who isn’t the most talented senior class ever for them to finish 5 – 5 and maybe finish 7 - 6 with the playoffs would be good for the fact they didn’t have all of their 3 seasons bad ones. But I don’t want to say they are going to blowout against anyone, maybe by week 8 when they play HHS they will have approved enough to make it a game, I think this team has HEART and that’s what the past 2 years didn’t have. The only reason I think they will get better because I have been to every game and I think each week starting with HC in the scrimmage, they are getting better and I just feel that this team will not go out like the past 2 years did.

5-5 with this team and this schedule will warrant COY consideration.

I have this much confidence in Coach Wirth, and you know, it has been just these past 2 years when CCH really hasn’t competed with OH teams. From 2006 and back we always competed. And as a CCH alum, it is very hard to watch in two short years we have gone from state champs to 5 -7, 5 – 7, now 0 – 3 and some of the worst losses ever. Wirth is a great coach and I think they will only lose 2 more game. I think Dixie will be tuff but I think they should at least finish 5 – 5.

I think Cov Cath will win this one. I like the way Erpenbeck is playing.. I thought he was a lot better then the QB last year and thought that he should of started last year.

Yes I agree, 100 %. There is no doubt that Erpenbeck should’ve been the QB last year. But don’t forget, he got his 1st start against Louisville St.Xavier, Explain Coach B’s thinking on that one last year?

I too believe CovCath will beat Campbell County.

 

Campbell has played Norwood ranked #14 and lost to them by 10 @ Campbell, and while Norwood is ranked #14 in Cincinnati, it is in the second division.

 

Campbell County did beat Roger Bacon and Bacon is ranked #18 again in the second division in the Cincinnati Enquirer Poll but by only three points.

 

So Campbell is 1-1 against some much smaller second tiered Cincinnati Schools.

 

Yes CovCath is 0-3 with losses to #3 rated Ryle Cincinnati NKy poll. #3 LexCath in Cantrall's 4A poll and #8 ranked Cincinnati LaSalle Cincinnati Enquirer first division poll.

 

So all you folks who say Campbell is going to win this game, do you honestly think they would have beaten Ryle, LexCath or LaSalle after losing to Norwood and beating Roger Bacon by only three?

If you watched the LexCath and LaSalle games CovCath did as good of a job of beating themselves, as did LexCath or LaSalle did in beating them.

BTW may greatest memory in my HS life happened at the now Campbell County Middle School gym. In 1967 CovCath defeated Cov Holmes to win their first 9th Region Championship game and the right to play in the Sweet Sixteen.

 

Who knew that night that in 1967, that CovCath would go on to win the 9th Region again in 1968, 1969, 1970, and 1971 and be a second short of winning the State Championship in 1967. WOW what a run.....

I think both teams are pretty evenly matched athletically but ERP will definitely stand out. If Campbell cant limit Erp it will be a long night.......

Campbell has open up their offense a bit and if the blitz dont get there, CCH's defense will struggle. From watching both teams, I feel Campbell will limit Erp and make some big plays on offense to get a victory.

 

CCH's young men has been fighting their tail off so I wouldnt be surprised if they pulled out a victory.

Ok, I looked their o – line is 4 seniors and 1 JR. Their QB is a senior; their two running backs are JRS. Their 4 primary receivers are 3 sophomores and 1 JR. But there are some older players who sub in every now and then. I do not know about the defense with seniors, juniors or sophomore but I do know that they returned one started from last years team and one of their linebackers is a senior and this is his first year playing linebacker. And CCHS QB actually played LB last year. But there are a lot of young guys playing but all of the classes; even the seniors had no experience.

The last two years teams' had heart and more talent than this team, but they had no guidance or leadership through the coaching staff, and I'm sure you know how much that affects a teams overall play and demeanor. I'd be shocked if this team makes it to the 3rd round of playoffs, and a 5-5 schedule on top of that would indeed make Wirth in consideration for COY of the year consideration.

Are you talking about CCHS or CCH position players? I am a bit confused. I know someone had mentioned about CCH being 40% sophomores but then you mentioned CCHS QB who played LB last year.
