Anyone else love this show? New season starts in September. I'm just now watching Season 3 and it has been great IMO.

Awesome show. The books are great as well. I've seen the first episode of Season 4 and it looks great!

I haven't finished season 3 yet. They are showing 2 episodes of season 3 per week right now though, and I have Showtime free for another 2 months.

Depending on the money situation, I may start paying for showtime and HBO after the free trial is up. I love having those channels.

I don't think Dexter's Lab is on anymore. But I used to watch it a lot.

Wrong Dexter. This one is a little better.

What's it about? I'll have to checkit out.

Love it. Just finished the DVD set of Season 3 and am thinking about signing up for Showtime just to watch Season 4!

Later.

What's it about? I'll have to checkit out.

Dexter is a CSI type forensic scientist, and also a serial killer who goes after bad guys. At times he just tries to live a normal life but knows he can't control his addiction to kill fueled by childhood problems.

Overall, it's an OK show (although there are few TV shows I follow closely). I never got too into it, but my roommates do.

He is a blood spatter analyst. Much different than a CSI type forensic scientist. He deals strictly with blood.

And it's not as simple as he, 'goes after bad guys'. He goes after people who have beat the system for the most part. People who have committed murder and or similar terrible crimes (rape), are usually his targets.

He always tries to live a normal life, or at least appear normal to other people. His father (adopted) was a police officer and knew Dexter had these feelings and that Dexter as a child wanted to kill. So his father trained him to kill by a code. The code of Harry, explains to Dexter who he can kill, how to act around other people, and how to not get caught. He does his best to fit in and pretend that he's normal to everyone around him, and he does a good job at it. But inside he feels nothing. He loves no one, he doesn't even know what love feels like. He just knows how to make it look like he loves people.

I've seen every episode from the get-go.:thumb: It is also my wife's favorite show.:idunno:

The thing I like most about the adaption is that Dexter's dark humor carries over well from the books. Michael C. Hall was a great pick to play the part of Dexter.

stick1, this is more accurate than my synopsis; thanks for clearing it up and my apologies (to HB20).

I started season one, but never really got into it. It's not bad, just not for me maybe.

No apologies necessary. I'm just a big fan of the show. :D

:thumb: I haven't read the books but I love the dark humor.

I also love how he calls his bad side his "dark passenger".
