I really have had no involvement with this thread, however I am curious as to what examples you wish to cite for your quote.

 

It makes no difference to me if you make fun of Republicans. I am Libertarian and believe in little governmental interference with much of anything, with a few notable exceptions.

 

A background in history and science though has taught me that you cannot simply make claims without solid evidence to back it up.

 

Referring to cch as a Republican is technically incorrect, as he is Libertarian. Now I can understand being somewhat annoyed if you feel as though you have been belittled in any conceivable way. However, I harken you to elaborate your point with evidence in order to make it so unassailable that none can logically or rationally hope to stand against it.

 

I look forward to reading your well thought out response so as to move beyond the knee-jerk reactions we so often see in a forum such as this. :thumb:

If you feel that I belittled you or made you feel inferior, I can assure you that it was not my intent and I apologize. FWIW, I'm not a Republican.

 

My comment was in regards to the fact that your posts in this thread were incoherent.

 

What I'm saying is, Republicans don't care at all about those with little to no fish. They'll give it to those with a massive boat load of fish to begin with and hope the leftover will "trickle down" to them. They do nothing to help, they only seemingly want to hurt the poor. And for that matter, why are we talking so much about fish again.

I don't think you get it. First you say Republicans teach people how to do things, and give them opportunity to do on their own. Now you're saying, Republicans give everything to the poor. Your original premise that Republicans don't give to the poor completely contradicts the idea that Republican donations to the poor caused a recession. (Which, by the way, the idea that donations cause recessions is totally insane as well).

 

Let's face the facts here- neither party cares about the poor. Poor urbanites vote strongly Democrat, and poor rural citizens vote strongly Republican. Both parties inability to restrict government spending hurts everyone by running up a massive deficit and inflating the currency so that your money isn't worth anything. We could get in arguments about Republican party members and Democratic party members and their treatment of the poor, but if we continue to elect politicians that don't care about anything but getting votes, how are any of us helping those with less?

At the end of his term with a democratic congress? Yes. I'm still waiting to hear how giving to charity is supposed to stimulate the economy.
