TrueBlueWildcat Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Just announced by Buzz Baker who is a part of the special televised release. I am excited for this but maybe the hype is a bit much because outside of UConn what real big school have we even heard that is being scheduled? I mean I really don't want to watch it just to see Morehead, UConn, and a bunch of cupcake teams announced. Hopefully there are a few surprises in store.

goaheadandjump Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Those would not be new additions to the schedule so I would hope with hyping this they are adding a few big names.
TrueBlueWildcat Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 UNC, UofL are a couple that I know. But we already knew those. For a television special you'd hope for some exciting games against some top teams (Duke, Kansas, etc.)
gchs_uk9 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I like the idea of giving each game a minute or so of discussion. You aren't learning much new, but honestly, how much do you know about Austin Peay and Long Beach State right now? You might pick up a few tidbits on the show. I honestly think this whole thing is just a way to show how much UK fans care. We're devoting an hour (or 30 minute) slot of TV to a schedule release. And I'd almost bet it gets better rating than anything else on at that time. That's probably a recruiting feather.

I'll be watching to see if there are surprises on the schedule, but many will be watching just because it's UK.:thumb:
mobaar Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 They've got to announce it somehow. Might as well do it on TV. You guys are too picky.

ColonelCrazy Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 ESPN Gameday @ Rupp for the Tenn. game. I think that's Feb 13...and the gametime will probably be 9.
ScarHeel Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Morehead St Sam Houston St Rider Cleveland St UNC UConn Indiana Austin Peay Long Beach St Louisville Those are all the out of conference teams they will be playing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009-10_Kentucky_Wildcats_men%27s_basketball_team#2009-10_Tentative_Schedule

Austin Peay and Morehead played in the OVC finals correct? Cleveland State was a NCAA team who beat Wake Forest. Sam Houston State was under 150 in the RPI. Rider was a 150+ RPI team. LBSU is not very good Heck, Indiana is the only 200+ RPI team on schedule and they play in Bloomington this year.

It's plausible that the schedule is correct, but I wouldn't trust Wiki.

TrueBlueWildcat Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 There I changed it. Don't know for how long though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009%E2%80%9310_Kentucky_Wildcats_men%27s_basketball_team#2009-10_Tentative_Schedule
