Not at all. The only thing I can think of that would be funny about it is he turned UK down. She said I assumed wrong, and asked why it would be funny.....Still no answer.
August 13, 200917 yr If he leaves UL? You think the school will still endorse him after this? Is he that far above the law in Louisville? Let us not forget he is viewed as a father figure for 12-15 eighteen-twenty two year old kids. This is a black eye UL doesn't need. I'm not sure I'm following you, but I've thought for quite a while that after Louisville, Pitino would be done... Regardless of the scandal, it's always been my opinion that this was his "last stop," so there would be no need for UL to endorse him.

As for who UofL could go get, I don't really see them getting Izzo, Roy Williams or Billy D at this point-Izzo and Roy Boy because the programs those two are at are bigger than UofL, I don't know why with Billy D, but he doesn't seem like a good hire. Jay Wright and Bruce Weber or even Frank Haith from Miami would be the three I would start with.

Since when? :thumb: I haven't heard or seen anything on him leaving, lol. :idunno: I will say though that Billy Gillispie and Eddie Sutton would be very good applicants and are waiting for the call. Actually, I hear that Billy Clyde Gillipie has already made after hours reservations at a certain Louisville restaraunt.:sssh:

As of now they are still backing him. 2.) Pitino may be that strong in Louisvlle, jmo 3.) I agree R. Pitino is a good salesman/con man, the man could sell an air conditioner to an Eskimo and have him convinced that he needed it to handle the extreme heat of an Alaska summer. What imo will bring Pitino down if anything is how this will affect his recruiting. I don't think that he will do very well after this with getting a kid that may come from a strong pro life family. (they can spin it all they want, the man imo paid for an abortion). Other families may not look at him in a very good way now. I don't know how they will feel about Pitino being a mentor/role mdoel for their son after this. Especially the moms and we all know that "mom" has a huge say if her child goes to a school.

All I meant was what LRCW said, and that there were a lot of comments back in the day when Donovan was the hoped for UK coach, that he looked like Eddie Munster. I remembered those and was chuckling. I also thought it was funny because I'm pretty sure that Pitino would still be involved with the program if Donovan became coach, considering their close relationship. None of it was really all that important, and I really wouldn't have minded explaining, but sometimes, when people start getting nasty with me, my bullheadedness sets in and I figure why bother... Of course, some had to jump in with assumptions. But....par for the course. Thanks for asking nicely.

Another guy to throw out would be Brad Stevens from Butler, I'm just trying to think of coaches that are at programs that aren't as heralded or are even with Louisville.
