LRCW Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 The Reds are reduced to the role of spoiler once again. I'm sure they'll do the usual of playing better ball the last 2 months of the season, and get everyone excited about a couple of players for next year, and managment will do nothing to improve the team. :irked::lol:
stickymitts Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 How in the world did this team beat Lincecum and Caine? Unbelievable. They'll get swept by the Pirates later this month.
LRCW Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 How in the world did this team beat Lincecum and Caine? Unbelievable. They'll get swept by the Pirates later this month. They technically didn't beat Lincecum. They won that game against the bullpen, and the Giants gave that one away.
stickymitts Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 They technically didn't beat Lincecum. They won that game against the bullpen, and the Giants gave that one away. True. But weren't they down 5-2 or 3 when he left? I would've been shocked with a loss of this score.
LRCW Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 True. But weren't they down 5-2 or 3 when he left? I would've been shocked with a loss of this score. I believe the Reds trailed 5-2 when Lincecum left the game. You would have been shocked if the Reds had lost that game 5-2? I'm not sure I folllow.

KY Thorobred Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Add CF to the top of the list of Reds needs
ColonelCrazy Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Cueto left tonight's game in the top of the 3rd after "running" out a groundball. It's an apparent hip injury. My guess is the struggling Cueto is headed to the DL...and honestly, that's probably a good thing. Shut him down for the year & get ready for next season.
ColonelCrazy Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Balentien went 1-4 again tonight. I think he's had at least 1 hit in every appearance thus far for the Reds.
mcpapa Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Baseball is funny that way ... No kidding. The odds of the Nationals winning 8 straight are something like 10,000 to 1.

Time for the annual salary drive (as opposed to a playoff drive).
ekubum Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It gets really old not being in the hunt year in and year out. Imagine the excitement of an actual playoff run.........I've forgotten what that was like!
malachicrunch Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It gets really old not being in the hunt year in and year out. Imagine the excitement of an actual playoff run.........I've forgotten what that was like! Yep. This has really gotten old. Just think about how many young fans they have missed out on. Anyone 18 or younger really have no idea what it is to follow and root for a winner. Sad:cry:
stickymitts Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Baseball is funny that way ... Which is why it's the greatest game. Which is also why I hate being a Reds fan.
