Agreed. I just think it's disingenuous of people to immediately fly off the handle about excessive government spending that is supposed to help Americans but say nothing for years about the war spending in Iraq that I can't see does anything directly for the average American.

 

Why should I believe that the same people who fell in without question to the war, when it seemed obvious that a little reading would prove it wrong, are pressing for answers to all of the slightest questions when it comes to health care.

I understand and agree with what you are saying. Strangely, I've heard plenty of people say that they felt safer because we went to Iraq, but I never felt anything like that (although I was pretty young and not considering these things for majority of Bush's terms).

 

What it boils down to is that the supporters of the party in charge never mention the spending, but when the parties switch places, spending becomes an issue again. And I'll go as far as saying it's more of an issue with Republicans because at least they claim to be the party of small government, while the Democrats will openly admit that they want government to take more money.

I think there is an effort to organize it now. Not sure if the first few were organized. Not saying they weren't, but haven't seen any proof they were.

 

This is a tactic that has been used by liberals for years though, I find it funny that they are so up in arms now that it is being returned to them.

Exactly, Unions have used this tactic for many years. It's funny that now union thugs are being used to strong arm anyone wants to stand up in opposition at these meetings. Do I think some of the these protests were organized to only disrupt meetings, sure. Do I think that all are no. For Pelosi to make a statement like she did just shows her stupidity.

Its symbolic of where we are as a country and I'd argue that it didn't use to be this way. We can't even have civil discourse and get the facts. We just try to shout down the others because the talking heads told us we should be scared.

I can think of the war protester but he's usually by himself. I can think of groups standing outside a rally chanting but , again, that's outside.

In order to shut down the convention its going to take a lot more people than the handful that formed this brigade.

 

I'm talking about a group of protesters actually being big enough to shut down discussion. I can't recall any.

I do think the elderly are very concerned about this issue, but what are people really protesting? There is no legitimate bill out there.

It is getting silly...you have the "angry mobs" and the White House with their "Big Brother" email addy to report people putting out fishy info.

The majority of Americans are against the health reform...so is it really just an angry mob?

Why should they just not focus on the people without health care...why are they trying to change to system for everyone?
